Big trouble over at Rockstar this morning, as somehow, some way, an enormous amount of early footage from GTA 6 has leaked out, spread across 90 videos ...

It’s easy to imagine that it’s going to be pretty excellent after a lot more work and polishing. In the footage the woman is named Lucia, and the man is named Jason. It’s easy to imagine this will escalate into Rockstar trying to track this hacker down and bring them to legal justice, but we’ll see how successful they’ll be in that pursuit. The footage seems to confirm previous details from older leaks including the location, the Miami-esque Vice City, and the male and female leads.

This leak also corroborates [suggestions the game will feature a female protagonist](https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2022/07/gta-6-has-a-female-protagonist-new-report-claims) alongside other playable characters in a storyline influenced by bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde. The internet is still scrubbing through footage, so it's possible more key details will leak in the coming hours and days. Once the cops do arrive, a female character and male accomplice steal one of their cars and are told to lose them in order to complete the objective. Roughly 90 videos were linked on the [GTA Forums](https://gtaforums.com/topic/985481-gta-6-americas-leak-90-mp4-footagevideos/) by a poster named teapotuberhacker, and the videos very much appear to be real. 90 videos of a game still being made is unprecedented, especially for such a big, upcoming title.

Grand Theft Auto 6 appears to have suffered a massive leak this morning with images and development footage apparently appearing online. While it is not.

The character names may also be shown in this clip with the lady called Lucia while the guy seems to be called Jason, who appear to be the main characters for GTA 6. If this is all real then Rockstar will have to deal with this major data and security leak. Other videos and screenshots do have views of other brands from the GTA Universe as well. Most of the characters are not fully modelled, lacking detail in their faces, which could make this more legitimate of this being a development build of GTA 6 – it’s also worth noting that there are always a lot of placeholder elements when games are so deep in development and far away from release. The script even mentions GTA V character Jay Norris – the CEO and founder of the app LifeInvader. While it is not verified this is all confirmed footage, there is a lot of detail from environment design, voice acting, and debug screens that show parts of Vice City, the surrounding area, and two player characters.

For now, though, it seems safe to say that we know where GTA 6 will take place, when it will take place, and who it will star (at least initially). While it’s a little sad to learn that GTA 6 won’t take us back in time (at least for the soundtrack’s sake), it makes sense that Rockstar wouldn’t want to give up the many modern conveniences a more modern time period offers (cell phones, the internet, etc.). Furthermore, it seems that the leaked footage and screenshots represent either a work-in-progress version of GTA 6 or an even older version of the game. Not only do many of the background locations certainly look like Vice City (palm trees, beaches, etc.), but at one point, we actually see a character board a “Vice City Metro” train. Furthermore, I won’t be directly sharing links to the pieces of leaked media in question. That all changed a little earlier today when one of the biggest leaks in video game history seemingly gave the world their first look at an in-progress build of GTA 6.

It's good news for fans of an earlier installment in the "GTA" series who were hoping to be able to explore one of its preexisting settings in a new, advanced environment. The videos, apparently legitimate, seem to line up with previous reports and leaks regarding the content of "GTA 6." Ultimately, the footage points to the fact that the next version of "Grand Theft Auto" will give players more options to play the game in their own way. Instead of stopping to navigate a separate menu, it looks like "Grand Theft Auto 6" will allow you to heal quickly, without stopping the flow of gameplay. Additionally, it seems as though players will be able to choose weapons to assign to both the primary and secondary hand slots on the fly, allowing them to switch between two preferred firearms without reopening the inventory wheel. In previous iterations of "Grand Theft Auto," the inventory wheel allowed players to swap through all the different types of firearms at their disposal. Did the hacker behind the Uber hack just breach Rockstar Games' servers and leak Grand Theft Auto 6 development videos?

As well as making claims to be the same 'Tea Pot' hacker who was behind the Uber incident, the threat actor says they had gained access to both GTA 5 and GTA 6 source code along with other assets. That Slack server access was involved, and the very public, boastful nature of the video postings certainly suggest a similar modus operandi, however. As evidence of this, videos of Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6, which is still in the early stages of development, have been leaked and published online.

A hacker has got hold of almost a 100 videos and screenshots of GTA 6, as Rockstar Games desperately tries to remove them from the internet.

The source of those rumours also currently believes the video leaks are real.
