However, we would expect that many workers will be able to take the day off on the bank holiday. Tesco Express shops will open at 5pm, but a small number of stores in central London and Windsor will remain open throughout the day. Many supermarkets have announced that they will be closing on the Bank Holiday Monday. We also expect employers to respond sensitively to requests from workers who wish to take the day of the funeral off work.” This means that businesses, supermarkets, and places of work may be closed for the day, or during the funeral.
