West Yorkshire Police released a statement yesterday confirming Khayri had sadly died after he was attacked near his school.

"Rest In Eternal Peace Khayri. Rest in Peace Khayri." RIP Khayri." Sophie Vanessa said: "I can’t imagine saying goodbye to my child in the morning and then after school they have been murdered. Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of murder. Such a terrible tragedy happened to a young boy. One mourner, Lucy Smith, wrote a tribute to leave: "A child taken, a family crushed. Mourners have been going to Woodhouse Hill today where Khayri was attacked to lay flowers and tributes. In a statement, a force spokesperson said: ""A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder in relation to the death of a 15-year-old boy who was stabbed in an incident in Huddersfield yesterday. Headteacher describes violent death of pupil as 'truly shocking news' (Bradford Telegraph and Argus)

The headteacher at a West Yorkshire school has issued a statement after the violent death of one of its pupils.

"Our deepest sympathies go out to the pupil’s family and friends who must feel, as we do, completely devastated. I would urge everyone not to engage in speculation about possible causes or perpetrators and allow the police to make their enquiries. "In order to brief school staff and liaise with available support services, school will not open until 10:30am and only to students who need support following this tragic incident. "West Yorkshire Police have launched an urgent investigation so it would be inappropriate to make any further comment at this time. “We recognise that an incident of this nature will cause understandable shock and concern in the community, and we are working closely alongside our colleagues at Kirklees District who are increasing their presence in the area to reassure people and keep them updated as our investigation progresses. We will be providing specialist support for any among our community who feel they could benefit.

The teachers came to him afterwards but from his face you could tell he lost consciousness.” Pupils were leaving school after lessons finished at around 2.40pm when the stabbing occurred.

Tributes have been paid to a teenage schoolboy who was stabbed to death by a masked knifeman outside of his school.
