Paul Warne to Derby County: Deal 'agreed' for new manager ... (Derbyshire Live)

Latest Derby County news from DerbyshireLive brings a round-up of all the latest news about the change of managers at Pride Park with Liam Rosenior stepping ...

[Deal 'agreed'](https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/derby-county-paul-warne-rosenior-7612758) [understands that an official approach has been made to the Millers](https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/paul-warne-rotherham-derby-county-7612363) in order to speak to Warne whose stock is high after a terrific start to the Championship. [understands](https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/derby-county-paul-warne-rosenior-7612392) that an official approach has been made to Rotherham United with a view to talking with manager Paul Warne about the newly vacated role at [Pride Park](https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/all-about/pride-park). I don't know what more he could have done over the past few months. [Reports in the national media claim that a deal has now been 'agreed'](https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/derby-county-paul-warne-rosenior-7612758) which would see [Wayne Rooney](https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/all-about/wayne-rooney) finally replaced as permanent manager three months on from the now DC United manager resigning on the eve of pre-season. Simon : IF Paul Warne was announced as permanent manager, you can understand the reasoning. So I would have to do some 'smoke signal' thing, but I wouldn't tell him as I'd get done and sacked! Following his team’s 0-0 draw against Middlesbrough on Saturday, Warne addressed links to Championship side Huddersfield Town before talk around a move to the East Midlands emerged. I personally have not spoken to Huddersfield. The manager has been in situ with the Millers on a permanent basis since 2017 after taking over as caretaker. A deal has been agreed with Rotherham, only a few minor details to finalise.” Writing on Twitter, the journalist posted: “Paul Warne is set to be the new #dcfc manager.

Derby County sent 'unbelievable' Paul Warne message as tag ... (Derbyshire Live)

Adam Collin felt Paul Warne was always destined for a big job in the Football League and says Derby County's squad will love playing for him.

"He wanted the players to be fitter than everybody else in the Championship and they are. "And when you think that Rotherham has such a low budget for that division, to be in the top 10 is unbelievable. I always thought he would get a big opportunity purely because of the character he is and I am sure the Derby dressing room will love playing for him." "First and foremost he is a great guy and one of the best I know in football," said Collin who is Head of Academy Goalkeeping at Mansfield Town. "That just shows what a good job he has done. Warne led the Millers to promotion to the Championship last season and also banked the EFL Trophy having beaten Sutton United at Wembley. He's just a really good guy and a brilliant manager." "He gets unfairly tarnished with that direct tag," Collin continued. The move comes after [Liam Rosenior](https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/all-about/liam-rosenior) was told he was no longer in charge as interim boss although he currently remains on the staff at Pride Park. At Rotherham I played under Steve Evans which could be quite tough at times, but Paul united the dressing room and kept everybody together. "He's honest, he will tell you how it is even if you don't like what he says at times. Warne's reputation has risen considerably in light of his track record at the New York stadium having led the club to promotion from League One on three occasions.

READ | An Open Letter from Paul Warne (Rotherham United)

Dear Millers,. My amazing journey at this football club is over - for now. I avoid calling it 'the end' because football is a funny old game and ...

We have always said that our aim was to leave the football club in a better place than we found it when we took the job six years ago, and I hope you agree that we have done that. As a result, I’ve made so many friends for life with the players and staff that have walked through the doors at Roundwood and they are in so many ways like sons to me as a result of the togetherness that we have been able to create. Every group since then - from the Joe Mattocks to the Conor Washingtons of this world - have been an absolute credit to this club and themselves. With the Chairman’s support, we have been able to bring in players that we have identified potential in and develop them, in many cases, selling them on for a profit to help ensure the continued progression of the club. Seriously, I feel like I know so many of you personally and my phone has already been blowing up with many of you wishing me well – which means the world to me. I would like to think that he feels myself and my staff repaid him with our work ethic every single day and in the good times that we have been able to give the club along the way.

Promotions In Focus Paul Warne (Derby County Football Club)

Derby County's new Head Coach Paul Warne knows a thing or two about getting out of League One.

The Millers’ promotion was helped by a fantastic run of form between September and December that saw them go on a 16-game unbeaten run with 11 of those games in that time being victories. The Millers defeated League Two outfit Sutton United 4-2 after extra time, following a 2-2 draw in normal time, adding another piece of silverware to an already impressive CV. The summer of 2017 saw him tasked with rebuilding a squad capable of bouncing straight back to the Championship.
