"I coach football, so a lot of the young people would know me already from that, and it is good to see them come into the shop. Everybody is great and the Glen Road is only getting busier. "With staff and customers, the craic is great. We are all trying to make a living, but we will always support one another." Obviously we have a number of schools around the area, and they are really good kids. "It is rare for Seven to be quiet and the atmosphere is just really enjoyable. "For people who have supported us, we just want to say a huge thank you to them. "I am local, and the Glen Road to me has just completely changed. "In Applejacks, the craic is great among the staff. And as things get busier, some have decided it is the place to be for their new business venture.

We get a lot of opportunity here in Northern Ireland from the Arts Council and people should really avail of their help as well." We're very privileged to have this as a job," Laura said. We pitched the idea to them and a couple of days before she arrived, they came to collect the brooch, then we found out it was Princess Anne." Laura said: "We knew starting out this was going to be hard. There's a lot of skilled courses you can do, especially over in London." We got a lot of really positive feedback from everyone," Laura added. We often go to the Ulster Musuem to get our inspiration as well." Goldsmiths is probably the most prestigious organisation there is in the jewellery industry in the UK, which makes this quite a big deal. Martin said: "It was quite a big deal for us to be involved in the SHINE programme, as we were only one of nine UK designers to be chosen for that. The pair find their influences in the landscape of Northern Ireland, and take pride in being able to create unique pieces of art jewellery. After graduating, Martin began to work for another jewellers, while Laura spent a few years travelling. "It was a bit of a shock for us but it was brilliant," Laura said.

"Every human has a rich life worth hearing about, though very few have the support or confidence to ever publish their story."

His work is currently on show in the University of Atypical Gallery on Royal Avenue. His book is filled with rich anecdotes from the late 1960s onward through the eyes of a curious and imaginative individual. Susan said: "Every human has a rich life worth hearing about, though very few have the support or confidence to ever publish their life story. Larry began taking art classes 15 years ago and has continued to develop and grow as an artist. Susan then edited the non-linear autobiography into an order with rhythm. He was the first learning disabled artist to receive a major award from us. 'My Life with Them' will be launched on Sunday, October 9 th at the University of Atypical Gallery as part of the Bounce Festival and the book will be on sale in the gallery or by sending a request by email to "As I’ve got to know Larry, I’ve come to realise just how unique, engaging, creative and inspiring an individual he really is. Larry is certainly not lacking in confidence, but the support of the Chris Ledger award has made it possible to design, publish and launch his life story and fulfil his dream." Larry is a magnificent example of how the arts can have a fundamental and positive impact on the quality our lives and on our personal ambitions.” 'My Life with Them' is the story of Larry’s life and his relationships with the people who are important to him. The book is illustrated with a selection of his own drawings as well as remarkable analogue photographs collected by Larry through the years.

Northern Ireland theatre company couple making the arts more ... (Belfast Live)

"Part of our company's ethos is to broaden and deepen engagement of the arts by overcoming barriers to arts participation"

Work from here is of the same calibre as our neighbours but it rarely gets to leave this corner. Per capita we are still the lowest across England, Wales, Scotland and a long way off Republic of Ireland and most of Europe. Ben continued: "Greater support from the government in other ways would also be appreciated. Claire explained: "Part of our company’s ethos is to broaden and deepen engagement of the arts by overcoming barriers to arts participation. Ben said: "The Gap Year is a new play written by Clare and directed by me. We need to look outwards with our work, there’s companies doing great work in this way but we need greater support on a political level to going further afield." But the story is about three women in their 60s who take a gap year around Ireland. We managed to keep bring performances to those cherished audiences over the past two years." So Clare has put these women centre stage and in the spotlight, literally. Alongside theatre work, the duo are dedicated to connecting with the community around them. We bring nostalgia-inspired performances to care homes, sheltered housing, supported living across NI. In the spirit of involving all ages in the arts, the pair's latest play, The Gap Year aims to bring the theatre to older audiences.

Minister John O'Dowd announces major changes to roadside grass ... (Belfast Live)

"I am determined to do all I can to protect and create important habitats for wildlife"

Some road verges need to be cut for safety but it is important not to cut more frequently than necessary. “Management is key – cutting less and cutting later. They said the maintenance budget will not change and no position will be lost as there is “no shortage of other road maintenance work available”. He added: “I would take this opportunity to encourage them to consider if this is necessary, and where possible they should adopt a similar approach to what I have introduced for the benefit of the environment.” “If managed sensitively, our verges have the potential to create a valuable nature recovery network making a positive contribution to the biodiversity and climate crises. “The change I am introducing will deliver on the commitments of my Department in support of the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan and is consistent with the aims of the National Pollinator Strategy. “This new approach aims to maintain the right balance between road safety and the control of grass and weeds while achieving a greater focus on environmental protection.” “The introduction of these new measures along with leaving suitable areas of grass uncut and the planting of wildflowers will help nature and protect the environment. “My Department is responsible for the maintenance of the public road network and annually cuts about 45,000km of grass verges. “We must do all we can to address the very real climate and nature emergency. The Minister said: “I am determined to do all I can to protect and create important habitats for wildlife. Roadside verges will be managed in a way that protects nature and the environment from next year, says the Department for Infrastructure.
