Really solid at the back for Wednesday. Decent enough performance at the back by Ikhiekwe, who looked relatively assured for much of the 90 minutes. The Owls, meanwhile, continued their fine form with a hard-fought win at Port Vale. Windass is in behind the defence thanks to a flick on from Smith, but a good covering challenge sees the ball go out for a corner, which Plymouth clear. But Wednesday are just two points back in third and headed for Home Park full of confidence after winning three of their last four games. Really good from Smith down the right but Bannan is unable to take his cross into his path and the ball rolls out for a Plymouth throw in. Cooper is again on hand to make a stunning stop, this time to deny Palmer a second of the match from close range. A real opportunity missed to send a statement of intent to the rest of division. Stockdale makes a superb save to deny Ennis from inside the area with his feet. Heneghan flicks on a long throw in the box, Ikhiekwe looks to meet it but Cooper is there to parry away. The Owls appeared to have a strangle hold on proceedings until the substitutions of Barry Bannan and Josh Windass with just under 20 minutes to play. Updates will appear below.
The table-topping Pilgrims beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 in front of more than 16000 fans at a raucous Home Park.
Josh Windass takes the set piece and his curling shot is just a fraction over the crossbar. He cuts the ball back towards Michael Smith but just as the striker is about to shoot Argyle midfielder Adam Randell gets back to make a vital interception. Argyle are ahead in the third minute. Bali Mumba needlessly concedes a free-kick for pulling back Will Vaulks just outside the Argyle box. For the second time in this game Wednesday are denied a goal by a post. Left-back reece James, who was injured in a challenge on him by Joe Edwards near the end of the first period, is replaced by Dominic Iorfa. Argyle are ahead in the 90th minute as substitute Sam Cosgrove heads home from a Niall Ennis cross. Their latest chance comes after a cross from the left by Marvin Johnson which reaches Josh Windass. It reounds towards Mike Cooper, hits him and he is able to push the ball away before Barry Bannan can follow up. Steven Schumacher makes a double substitution in the 58th minute as Matt Butcher and Nigel Lonwijk are replaced by Jordan Houghton and Brendan Galloway. The action is now coming thick and fast. Theyโre on a tremendous run; two good teams playing good football and showing consistency to their play this season.

[Josh Windass](/topic/josh-windass) beat Cooper in the 55th minute but his shot come back off a post, while the keeper had to be at his best to keep out a thumping Marvin Johnson strike after 64 minutes. Both keepers had played superbly, with Cooper acrobatically keeping out a 71st-minute Palmer effort and Stockdale then denying Adam Randle in the next attack, but Cosgrove snatched the points with a last-gasp winner. The Argyle number nine took the ball in his stride and powered a diagonal strike into the corner past David Stockdale.
