Sky demoed this new picture quality build side by side against a Sky Glass a current Sky Glass that hadn’t received the update, and the difference was remarkable. - Personalised lists, so you and your household can add content to your own dedicated Playlists. What’s more, since they’re both built on the same software platform, both Sky Stream and Sky Glass will benefit from the same ongoing (pretty much monthly based on the Sky Glass experience so far) firmware updates. It’s confirmed now, too, that you will be able to subscribe to Sky via Sky Stream either on a 31-day rolling plan that you can cancel any time, or on a better-value 18-month contract. It was actually like looking at a completely new TV - yet of course, nothing has been changed at a hardware level. Unlike Sky Q or Sky Glass there’s no need for an installation team to come to your door.
Sky Stream means you can watch House of the Dragon, Premier League football and loads more exactly as you please.
Of course, there’s also the means to pair a Sky Glass and Stream together if you’re due a new telly. The latter of which means you can nope out of the commitment as and when you please, which is a pretty big deal in this ‘cost of living’ era. Although the Sky Stream is just a tiny box, it contains all the smarts of Sky’s recent Glass TV. And instead of subjecting yourself to the tedium of booking in an engineer for installation, you get sent a hand-sized puck in the post and plug it into your TV via its HDMI port. It works exactly as a Sky Q subscription would with prices starting at £26 per month for the basic ‘Entertainment’ package and escalating as you throw in extras such as Sky Sports, Sky Cinema and Netflix into the mix. Yes, we can scarcely believe this stunning turn of events either, and that's what makes the Sky Stream such a revelation.
Sky is signalling the end of satellite dishes and lengthy waits for installation with a new device.
"The picture quality for watching films is captivating and the sound quality is greater than any TV I've had. Our reviewer described the Sky Glass as: "A visually attractive and appealing TV to have in your room, regardless of the size you go for. The TV is customisable and offers all of Sky's services built-in with voice control to operate the menus. The Sky Stream comes with a one-month rolling contract as a more flexible alternative to longer contracts and has voice control functionality for your TV. Sky has launched a new device that does not need to be installed and could signal the end of the Sky satellite dish for ever. Unlike normal Sky boxes, the Stream does not need a dish or an engineer to set it up.
The end of the dish has edged a step close with the launch of Sky Stream. One year after the launch of the Sky Glass integrated TV, Sky Stream has been ...
A flexible 31-day rolling contract that can be cancelled at any time for £29 a month, or an 18-month contract for £26 a month, both of which include Sky Ultimate TV & Netflix Basic. A minimum broadband speed of 10 Mbps is recommended. A basic package to Sky and Netflix costs £26 a month.

We test the Sky Stream, the UK entertainment giant's answer to a multi-platform streaming device.
The Sky Stream was kindly sent to us for review purposes and tested very quickly to create this first impressions piece. A few tweaks would get the Sky Stream top marks from us, and the improvements that have already been made since the release of the Glass mean we're not worried. Above all, the Stream shows how it should be done in a world of multiple streaming subscriptions and the overwhelming amount of content, and Sky's commitment to making the lives of its users easier rather than vying for their undivided attention is incredibly refreshing. We would say you will need to have access to multiple streaming platforms to get the most out of Sky Stream. Of course, the added cost of the set-up, Sky membership and add-ons like Sky Cinema and Sky Sports still doesn't make the service what we'd call affordable, but the company knows that it's offering a premium experience. Press and hold the microphone button on the remote and say what you want to find. The packaging is minimal and easy to figure out, with just the Stream box itself, a Sky remote, a power cable, an HDMI cable and safety instructions. Sky Stream is now available to buy for telly fans in the UK, and you can purchase the streaming device directly from the company's website. Unfortunately, we could only test the Stream for a short time before making our conclusions, but the Watch Now panel struggled to keep up with our viewing in a way that felt natural. You can then add services like Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, BT Sport, and Sky Sports on the same basis. This is for you if you want Sky but already have too much tech cluttering up the living room. This changed with Sky Glass, and Sky Stream has moved the needle even further.
Sky Stream is the full Sky TV experience but delivered over broadband rather than a satellite dish. Here's what we think of it.
And, with a 31-day rolling contract option, we have to say that Sky is making it easier - and more attractive - to sign up than ever. Yes, Sky Glass got there first, but now you don't have to swap in your existing TV and AV setup to get the same thing. Of course, it sings best when you have a 4K HDR TV, Dolby Atmos sound system and Sky's UHD add-on, but picture and audio performance is great across the board. There are no +1 channels either as you have everything available on demand anyway, and Sky offers the ability to restart live programming from the beginning if you jump onto a channel halfway through. It's certainly hard to fault Sky's ambition when it comes to voice control and the immediacy of its use is very welcome. You don't get far-field voice control on the puck, so can't just bark a wake word and a command, but voice search and control works very well through the remote itself. If you're moving from Sky Q, it might take you a while to get used to the interface, but that's the same with any streaming service or device. It doesn't have a record button (for reasons that will become obvious), but does have one for adding content to your playlist and the microphone button to press when giving voice commands. Sky Stream is effectively two things in one - a full, internet provided service and the Sky Stream puck itself. When you start the puck it launches straight into the homepage and everything is laid out logically and easy to get to. The device is very effective, especially for its size, with access to plenty of apps as well as the gamut of Sky and terrestrial broadcast television, but it's the experience that wins out. That's because the puck is identical to the device offered to Sky Glass owners for multiroom viewing.
