David Prutton believes that Sheffield United's winless run will extend to five games when they take on Coventry City this evening.

But, the victory at Cardiff was a reminder that Robins has quality and they will expect to get out of trouble in the coming weeks. “That was a battling display from Coventry to pick up a first away win of the season at Cardiff on Saturday. More importantly, it is four without a win and they have lost top spot.

Goals have been coming too easily for the opposition in recent weeks and with Ahmedhodzic also coming back, the back three will be close enough to full strength. Oli McBurnie is managing a hernia, but like others, could be in line to start given he was on the bench at the weekend. United’s long-term absentees are well documented but there is positive news in the main.

Coventry City vs Sheffield United live match updates and opinion (Yorkshire Live)

The Blades are looking to return to winning ways and to the automatic promotion places.

That was a battling display from Coventry to pick up a first away win of the season at Cardiff on Saturday. More importantly, it is four without a win and they have lost top spot. They have also scored just twice in that period. They haven't scored many but only lost one, so they have really got back to what they were in my eyes last season, a tough team to play against. They have lost just once in their last six, at home to Burnley, and have kept four clean sheets in their last five. The league position is false. [Paul Heckingbottom](https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/all-about/paul-heckingbottom) will be keen to ensure his side get three points here tonight and banish the memories of last season, when they were thumped 4-1. They threw away what seemed like a sure win, then picked up a last-gasp draw. I think it could be five without a win, but I don’t think they’ll lose They can’t let themselves get too adrift. Once the players start to believe, they’ll become more fluid and it will start to look a bit more like it did at times last season. The pair are rising to the challenge

Coventry City player ratings v Sheffield United: Brilliant Waghorn ... (Coventry Live)

Coventry City player ratings from CoventryLive after the Sky Blues secured a 1-0 victory over the Blades at the CBS Arena.

Lively impact and almost won a penalty when he was clattered in the box. Put himself about in a lively display up top where he was just waiting for the right ball to be able to pounce. Scored a brilliant penalty to give City the 87th minute lead. Neat, tidy and efficient in the middle of the park from where he passed the ball really well. Won City's late penalty when he drove into the box and was hauled down. Had one wild shot at goal on a frustrating night for the striker. Kicked and passed well out from his area but didn’t have a single save to make in a first half devoid of chances at both ends. A decent outlet on the right and played some nice one-twos around the area, although his crossing could have been better early on. Martyn Waghorn and Kasey Palmer followed just after the hour for Godden and Allen as Mark Robins looked to find a way through a solid Blades back line. Constantly showed for the ball Dabo, meanwhile, was treading a fine line when he shoulder barged and fouled a Blades player on the far touchline, having already been booked. But the referee was having none of it and waved play on.

There was drama in the last five minutes when Viktor Gyokeres was brought down in the area and the referee pointed to the spot. At the other end, the visitors had a shot from range for themselves, but it was the same outcome as Godden’s as it went over the bar. In a tight game, it was Waghorn’s penalty which proved the difference, as the striker fired the ball past Davies from the spot.
