Gangs of London’s new series opener duly obliges with (semi-spoiler alert, here) one leading light throwing himself off a tower block. Anyway, they decide to bring the warring mafias under the control of Pakistani heroin baron Asif Afridi (Asif Raza Mir). A more accurate comparison would be with Game of Thrones, with London standing in for Westeros. The first series of this gleefully violent drama about the battle for control among London’s various international mafias (Albanian, Pakistani, Kurdish, British and so on) was a huge hit for Sky in 2020.
