We need to be ready for that, but the focus is primarily on ourselves and delivering the performance that we can." "Obviously we want to go there and win the game but I wouldn't look too much into the result whether it's good or bad. A crowd of more than 28,000 is expected with Derby aiming to secure three successive away wins under [Warne](https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/all-about/paul-warne) since he was appointed last month. Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Tom Barkhuizen who were not in the squad on Tuesday night return to take their place at wing-back. First yellow card of the night and it's a simple one for the referee. Ipswich have lost their last two games against Cambridge (Papa John's) and Lincoln (the league), but they've got a decent squad. The game is being televised live on Sky Sports with Derby hoping they can record their third successive away win since Warne took charge last month. Barkhuizen has just clipped a lovely ball in behind for the loan striker, but he is beaten to it by Walton. Barkhuizen has seen plenty of the ball but he has not found his range yet which is not like him as usually he is quite tidy. People have had to book time off to get here in what is a tremendous show of dedication. However, Dobbin has led a break before feeding Mendez-Laing who gets to the byline and cuts it back into the box, but it's hacked away. And the deadlock has been broken.

Derby: Wildsmith, Chester, Cashin, Barkhuizen, Bird, Mendez-Laing, Smith, Sibley, Dobbin, Osula, Davies (c). Derby County fell to a 1-0 defeat to Ipswich Town in Sky Bet League One action on Friday evening. Wes Burns' goal just after the hour mark was enough to ...

Cashin was in the right place after the break to put in a crucial block that stopped Harness’ effort finding the bottom corner whilst up the other end, Dobbin was inches away from getting on the end of a lovely through ball that would have seen him with just the keeper to beat. Up the other end and it was Luke Woolfenden providing the same for the Tractor Boys as he slid in to deny an inviting low ball from Mendez-Laing finding either William Osula or Lewis Dobbin in the centre of the box. Derby started on the front foot but it was the home side that had the first chance of any real note when Lee Evans whipped a wicked ball across the box that Joe Wildsmith did well to get in the way of and put behind for a corner.

Ipswich Town 1-0 Derby County: Andy Warren player ratings (East Anglian Daily Times)

Ipswich Town beat Derby County 1-0 at Portman Road tonight. Andy Warren hands out his player ratings.

The former Portsmouth man started as the central No.10 and had some good moments when he got on the ball and managed to turn Derby defenders, but often lacked the final ball as he looked to push Ipswich forward. Showed a few flashes in the first half of this game but couldn’t find the killer final ball his team needed, before producing the moment that mattered, pushing Curtis Davies into an error and then maintaining his composure to finish in front of the North Stand. As the game went on, though, he got more and more on top of his personal battle and certainly helped his side to victory here. He won ball after ball in a game which produced different challenges for him, with the first-half movement of Dobbin and Osula replaced by the guile of David McGoldrick and power of makeshift centre-forward Curtis Davies. The birthday boy, who turned 24 today, was stretched at times by the Derby strikeforce of Lewis Dobbin and Will Osula but stood up to that well on a night where the Blues kept a clean sheet which was vital to this victory. Clad in orange, the Ipswich keeper’s night was a quiet one all in all, but every time he was required to get off his line quickly, he delivered for his side.
