Promotion-chasing Sheffield Wednesday were held to a 1-1 draw by Lincoln City in the early kick-off in League One on Saturday afternoon.

Gregory pounced on a mistake by keeper Carl Rushworth to give the The Owls took an early lead as Lee Gregory fired the visitors in front after just seven minutes but Daniel Mandroiu’s first league goal for the Imps secured them a share of the spoils. Danny Mandroiu's second half strike cancelled out Sheffield Wednesday's opener to earn a point and extend City's unbeaten home league run to six matches.

Subs (not used): Cameron Dawson, Dominic Iorfa, Callum Paterson, Tyreeq Bakinson. City’s first shot on target came in the 21st minute as Ben House’s high press allowed the ball to come to Danny Mandroiu who burst into the final third before threading through the frontman who stung the palms of David Stockdale with a fierce shot from outside the area. The Owls looked to cause more trouble for the Imps in the 15th minute as Windass had time to pull the ball back for Bannan just outside of the box whose left-footed strike was deflected narrowly past the top left corner.

Lee Gregory pinched possession deep into Lincoln territory and crossed for Bannan, who couldn’t get the ball out from underneath his feet, giving defender O’Connor enough time to produce a last ditch tackle to keep his side level. In only the fifth minute, it was the visitors turn to attack, with the ever-experienced Owls’ captain Barry Bannan clipping a long through ball over the top of the city defence to find Ihiekwe. Wednesday went close through a set piece of their own towards the end of the opening 45 minutes.
