Preview: Chelsea take on Manchester United in the Premier League (Aljazeera.com)

Manchester unbeaten in last five games, Chelsea have not lost since Potter arrived last month.

Christian Eriksen will be benched. In defensive midfield, Ten Hag will look to Casemiro, who has brought stability to the team since signing from Real Madrid and Fred. Ten Hag, who has been in charge of Manchester United since the start of the season, lost his first game at home to a Brighton team then managed by Potter. A loss to Chelsea will undoubtedly heap pressure on Ten Hag, who, despite impressive wins against Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool, has overseen a 4-0 drubbing by Brentford and a string of lacklustre performances in the Europa League. Manchester United head to Chelsea on Saturday afternoon for what promises to be a key game for a top-four finish. Preview: Chelsea take on Manchester United in the Premier League

Cristiano Ronaldo: Gary Neville says Manchester United should ... (Sky Sports)

Cristiano Ronaldo dropped by Erik ten Hag for their trip to Chelsea after refusing to come on as a late substitute against Tottenham before leaving early; ...

"They beat Spurs the other night and thought they'd won the European Cup. They got hammered against Man City [without him], they lost to Brighton, they lost to Brentford, they've drawn today and celebrated like they've won the league. "He has to take his punishment. Can he get back into the team before the World Cup? "Everyone was saying after the Spurs game it was Manchester United's best performance in years. "They asked the manager in the press conference about Ronaldo refusing to come on but they should have asked him when was he going to put him on? Cristiano is too good a player, too fantastic a character and the club have got to move on. "I'm going to try and defend him. 'I count on him') and that he "counts" on him for the rest of the season, but Sky Sports pundit Neville believes the 37-year-old should leave. Let’s focus on this game, it was a good game for my team and I have to compliment my team. That has been brewing over the last few weeks," said Keane. Because this has to end," said Neville.

Chelsea vs Manchester United LIVE (Manchester Evening News)

Man United drew with Chelsea on Saturday evening and we'll bring you live reaction from the match at Stamford Bridge..

Defended near faultlessly and slid in to make a vital interception in the first-half. Unfortunately for Varane, he was forced off injured and appeared to be in tears. Almost every pass he played was forwards and the wait to occupy a position United failed to strengthen for five years has been worth it for they have recruited the world's best. Sancho was very quiet this evening and he's been hooked by Ten Hag, just minutes into the second half. [United](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/all-about/manchester-united-fc) defeated Tottenham 2-0 at Old Trafford on Wednesday and they were good value for that two-goal win. That forced Erik ten Hag to make the forward train separately with fitness coaches on Friday. [Read the full ratings here.](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/man-united-player-ratings-chelsea-25331670) At least they had another five-times Champions League winner to depend on. [Read the full report here.](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea-vs-man-united-highlights-25331680) Although United were without Ronaldo at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening, they looked the better side in the first half and they were disappointed to concede in the 86th minute after Scott McTominay gave a penalty away at a corner. He added: “The fact he still wants to do that is fantastic. “That battle that they’ve had for all those years, he’s not going to give it up easily, he wants to go to a team in the Champions League, he’s on a lot of money. When Neville and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink tried to respond, Keane reacted: “Let me finish! [Keane](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/all-about/roy-keane) and Neville agreed that the club were right to take action, the pair differed on whether United were better off without him in the side. He wants to play in the Champions League because that record he has, he’s 10 to 12 [goals] ahead of Messi, that’s so important to him. Keane said he admired Ronaldo’s elite mentality and that he has earned the right not to give up on top-level football just yet.

Chelsea 1-1 Manchester United: Casemiro header in added time ... (Football365.com)

The Brazil midfielder levelled by the slimmest margin, with goal-line technology rightly awarding his effort at Stamford Bridge. Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga ...

Jorginho delivered off the spot again, but Chelsea could not quite hold on as Casemiro popped up to claim United a share of the spoils. Trevoh Chalobah thumped a far-post header against the crossbar from a corner as the Blues tried to crank up the pressure, and then Scott McTominay felled Armando Broja for the late penalty. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang saw a low-power effort creep wide of a post as Chelsea fought for a foothold, then later failed to latch onto Raheem Sterling’s square ball in the area. Arrizabalaga was left to breathe a sigh of relief after United wasted the corner that he had conceded cheaply due to a fumble under no pressure. Chelsea identified this fixture as one of their matches to support Stonewall’s anti-discrimination Rainbow Laces campaign, with a host of initiatives around the match. Honours even in a cut-and-thrust encounter meant Chelsea stay fourth and United fifth in the Premier League table.

Classy Casemiro brings balance to Manchester United's midfield at ... (The Guardian)

Against Chelsea, the Brazilian, Bruno Fernandes and Christian Eriksen looked like a slick, modern and fully functional unit.

The introduction of Mateo Kovacic and the switch to a 4-3-3 led to Chelsea’s best spell of the game. But ultimately this is also a contact sport, a thing of guts and loins, of inches and millimetres, of who can win the grapple and who can summon the courage to leap highest when everything is on the line. United had 53% of the possession here, but more important was the ambition and calmness on the ball. This is a rapidly changing United team, and nowhere is the transition more dramatic and noticeable than in midfield. It had been a game of stratagems and counter-stratagems, plans made and then remade, two coaches trying to control the space on the pitch with the space in their heads. By the end of this taut and thrilling match, the iPads and the tactics boards had been stashed away.

Casemiro earned Manchester United a point with a stoppage-time equaliser as Chelsea were left stunned at Stamford Bridge.

Jorginho seemingly won it for the Blues in the final minutes, as Scott McTominay brought Broja down in the box just a couple of minutes after coming on. United suffered a worrying blow as Raphael Varane limped off, the Frenchman in tears with his thoughts surely on the World Cup next month. United’s attacking output was increasingly limited to Fernandes trying his luck from distance.

Who was our Man of the Match against Chelsea? (Manchester United)

It was a mixed evening for Manchester United in the capital, but one that ultimately ended on a high with a dramatic last-gasp equaliser from Casemiro.

The Reds will move quickly on, but our momentum is clear. His injury-time header was also his first goal for the club, too. Since losing our first two Premier League games of the season, we've lost just one of our last nine, and during that period have played all of the current top six. His passionate celebrations in front of the away end will only cement the feeling that he is integrating very smoothly into United life. It's the former Real Madrid man's second Man of the Match award since joining the Reds in the summer, following his excellent performance against Newcastle last weekend. Thankfully the Brazilian's header salvaged a much-merited point, and instead we can focus on the positive aspects of the Reds' performance.

Casemiro is giving Manchester United more than what they expected (Manchester Evening News)

Cristiano Ronaldo might have watched on wondering whether Man United would have won if he had played at Chelsea. But the situation is paradoxical.

United were purposeful and adventurous - especially in the first-half - and with Casemiro flanked by the recalled Christian Eriksen. With a back four, Chilwell regained his sense of adventure and Chelsea edged the second-half. But the scorer was a Brazilian. Ten Hag is especially demanding of Antony, a talent he unearthed and developed for two years in Amsterdam. Ten Hag swiftly restored harmony when Antony scolded Dalot for intercepting a pass intended for him and was urged to face his opponent instead. More important than Ronaldo to United is Raphael Varane, forced off for the second time this month. Almost every pass he played was forwards and the wait to occupy a position United failed to strengthen for five years has been worth it for they have recruited the world's best. United's options were so limited the attacking alternatives were Alejandro Garnacho and Facundo Pellistri, the latter still yet to play for the club he joined more than two years ago. Ronaldo was conspicuous by his absences on the terraces, too. The Chelsea draw was further proof goals are hard to come by for United. United's actual No.9, Anthony Martial, has started twice for them in the last year. In a game they will, deep down, be disappointed not to have won, for a delirious minute the draw felt like victory.

When Neville suggested that few Manchester United fans would want to see Ronaldo in the starting line-up, Keane gave a curt response. He’s going to have to leave, that’s it, that’s all it is." The former United captain went on to suggest that Ronaldo will have to leave the club. The legendary midfielder said: "There are players at Man United who have done a lot worse than what he's done." He goes to Everton a week later, comes on, scores a goal. He said: "I couldn't care less what fans think. He went on, explaining what he sees Ronaldo contributing to the team: "They played Man City a few weeks ago and it could've been 16 [goals they conceded]. The manager says, 'I'm not bringing him on' because he didn’t want to disrespect Ronaldo. Neville continued: "End it this week or create a truce to get to the World Cup. if you’re doing things like that you've got to leave." He said: "For me, [he] had no choice, no option... Jadon Sancho is running out of Manchester United excuses (Manchester Evening News)

Man Utd's Jadon Sancho was poor again at Chelsea and Erik ten Hag brought him off shortly after half-time.

This was supposed to be the season that Sancho truly showed what he is capable of, not the campaign which really tested supporters' patience with him. His performances have regressed, he has stopped doing what made him the talk of Europe and he's now running out of excuses in his second season at Old Trafford. Sancho was on the bench again for Omonia at home but he returned to the lineup against Newcastle. Sancho was anonymous against Manchester City, lacklustre and devoid of creativity against Omonia in Cyprus and he was finally dropped to the bench at Goodison Park. It's frustrating to watch Sancho and Ten Hag felt that at Stamford Bridge. Ten Hag has not been afraid to make big decisions during his premiership and hauling a player off just minutes after half-time was a statement of his authority.
