BOURNEMOUTH 2-3 TOTTENHAM: KIERAN GILL AT THE VITALITY STADIUM: The comeback winner for Spurs was bagged by Rodrigo Bentancur after their 19th corner of the ...

Bournemouth looked in control but in the 57th minute, Tottenham gave themselves a chance. Conte brought on Dier and Bentancur with Tottenham making it 2-2 in the 73rd minute. There was some ugliness by the sidelines when Moura clashed with a Bournemouth ballboy. A cross by Adam Smith and a header by Moore, who wanted to get to the ball more than Royal. Once the game resumed, five minutes of stoppage time were announced and Tottenham won yet another corner. But Conte wanted to manage Dier and Bentancur’s minutes and dropped them for game No 9 of the month. Tavernier squared the ball to Moore. In the 23rd minute, Bournemouth led 1-0. Conte made those calls with a view to Tuesday’s trip to Marseille – a match they cannot lose, otherwise it’s curtains for them in the Champions League. Tottenham looked more like The White Tripes in the opening exchanges as Bournemouth took control of this match. Ryan Sessegnon kickstarted the comeback with a tidy finish from a tight angle. Finally, Rodrigo Bentancur struck the stoppage-time winner from Tottenham’s 19th corner of the match.

'Worst player in the league': Tottenham star savaged for dire moment ... (Daily Express)

Tottenham defender Emerson Royal has been described as the 'worst player in the league' after an abject performance in Spurs' 3-2 comeback win over ...

It is unlikely that Royal will be involved given his performance today, with the wing-back now surely set for a spell on the bench. For many, it will feel that it was no coincidence that the improvement came once Royal had been taken off the park. The effort caused Twitter user @NathanW74941122 to exclaim that the Brazilian was the ‘worst player in the League’ - an abject analysis that may well be shared by many of the Tottenham faithful. The Brazilian’s game was summed up in a dire moment during the first half when he smashed a shot out of the stadium to stop a positive attack in its tracks. With Djed Spence, Matt Doherty and Ivan Perisic all itching for game time, it is not like the Italian does not have other options that he can turn to. Royal has been widely criticised by Tottenham supporters for offering very little to the team.

Tottenham player ratings vs Bournemouth: Super-subs Rodrigo ... (Evening Standard)

Tottenham recovered from 2-0 down to earn a brilliant 3-2 win over at Bournemouth, sealed by Rodrigo Bentancur's stoppage-time goal.

Had a stinker defensively but got the all-important equaliser with smart movement and a cool header. Took his goal well, albeit with help from a slight deflection. Improved when Dier came on and Spurs’ were on the front foot. His quality from set pieces was a huge threat and his corner was headed home by Davies for the equaliser. Turned the game, adding composure and intensity to the midfield, and for the second game running was the goalscoring hero with a cool finish. The Cherries were a constant threat in transition down Spurs’ left flank, and he was beaten to the ball by Tavernier for the opening goal.

Tottenham recovered from 2-0 down to earn a dramatic stoppage-time win over Bournemouth in a comeback which will do nothing to convince Antonio Conte he is ...

As Hugo Lloris said in midweek, Spurs cannot maintain their levels for a full 90 minutes given the current schedule but they must find a way to stay in games in the periods when they drop off. Conte must also address his side's sluggish starts and inability to compete when they allow the intensity to drop. The languid midfielder made Spurs tick again, and they were soon tightening the screw against a Cherries side who dropped deeper and deeper, playing into the visitors' hands.

Tottenham Hotspur launch superb comeback in second half to seal ... (Planet Sport)

Substitute Rodrigo Bentancur struck deep into stoppage-time to help Tottenham complete their comeback from two goals down at Bournemouth and claim a crucial ...

Conte reacted by introducing Lucas Moura for Skipp and switching to his favoured 3-4-3 system, but Bournemouth doubled their lead five minutes into the second half. It was a deserved opener for the hosts and Lloris had to be alert two minutes later to thwart another driving Tavernier run. He managed to suck Sanchez out of position, which left Moore free to curl home first-time for his second goal of the season.
