Jeremy Clarkson issued an apology to Dan Walker after he wasn't able to fulfil his lifeline role on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

Dan then decided to choose the 50/50 lifeline which erased the two wrong answers out of the four choices and was left with Jean-Paul Sartre and Henry Gibson. When Dan probed into his thought process, Jeremy explained: “Well, Chekov has never written anything that interesting,” to which Dan admitted: “I was discounting Chekov.” Jeremy responded: “Here’s what I think, I’m going to be honest I don’t know, I mean you’ve got 50/50 left.” Presenter [Jeremy Clarkson](/latest/jeremy-clarkson) apologised to [Dan Walker](/latest/dan-walker) after he couldn’t help him out with a question which caused him to lose out on a huge jackpot. While Dan reckons there is a lot of good talent in this year's competition, there's one stand-out star.

I think I probably helped her with telly and she helped me with being more confident on the dance floor and learning dance, which I thought was genuinely beyond my capabilities. I just think that I had such a lovely time on the show that I'm more than happy to watch other people enjoying it. "I actually took my daughter last Saturday because she wasn't old enough to watch it when I was in it, so I want to take her for the first time," he said. "I think Jovita's done a lovely job with him and it's a great couple. I think Graziano's done a brilliant job with Kym, Nikita's been so creative with Ellie Simmonds, Johannes and the other Ellie are a really good combination.
