When she puts on lingerie and makes moves on him when she first arrives he says, “What, now?” and stalks out of the room. We can blame this on the creepy statues of heads placed in every room at the White Lotus. Later, she finds two had been moved somewhere else (did he move them?) and when she brings them to him, she hears him whispering on the phone in the bathroom. When they ask why she can’t sleep and whether it’s the stress of her job, she says it’s that but also “everything that’s going on in the world.” When pressed, she’s not sure how to respond. Harper is also annoyed at the public displays of affection Daphne and Cameron constantly assault her eyes with, insisting that it must be fake. I quote her line up at the top of this post because it’s such a perfect line to open this story with. Harper asks Daphne what she does all day if she doesn’t watch the news and she says that she looks after their kids and loves to watch Dateline.
