CHELSEA are up against Dinamo Zagreb in their final Champions League group clash as Graham Potter looks to bounce back from the Blues' loss to Brighto.
Graham Potter can afford to relax, knowing that they are automatically through whatever the result this evening. However, AC Milan must also secure victory if this is to happen. However, a 4-1 defeat to his old club Brighton on the weekend will leave the Chelsea boss with a lot of making up to do, starting with a win tonight. Chelsea are guaranteed to progress whatever the result this evening. Due to already playing for Juventus this year, Zakaria will have to stay at Chelsea until the end of the season, meaning he can't return to Juventus in January. The West London side can secure top spot in their group with a win, with qualification to the last 16 already secured.
BT Sport have a theory that Sterling could actually be playing wide left in a 4-2-3-1, with Chilwell and Azpilicueta in a back four.
"So from our perspective we have to try and think of a team that we think will win the game. Zakaria shows good ball-retention skills to keep the ball in midfield and win a free kick. It started with a good switch of play out to the left to Ljubicic, in acres of space outside that Chelsea diamond. Kepa Arrizabalaga was in sparkling form but is another on the injury list, giving Edouard Mendy a chance to regain the No 1 position. Chelsea fans are growing concerned with the level of their Premier League performances, but Potter has done everything asked of him in Europe. Chelsea are sorely missing the injured Reece James, with Wesley Fofana and N'Golo Kante also sidelined. The atmosphere is a little flat as you might expect, save for the 2,000 or so Croatians in the corner. It was the first time in the game Zagreb attacked with any tempo. Mount put on the after burners to get in behind in the right channel. Arced deep to Sterling at the back post, but he could not keep an extremely difficult volley down. Sloppy from Sutalo to spray a pass straight out of play. Dinamo Zagreb are far too comfortable at the moment, Chelsea do not look sure of their next pass once they cross the halfway line.
Chelsea take on Dinamo Zagreb for their final Champions League group game having already qualified for the knockout stages.
On Wednesday, with Chelsea already through as Group E winners, he is expected to make a host of changes and perhaps give some rare opportunities to the 'fringe' players in the squad. Graham Potter laughed off suggestions of pressure at Chelsea after the Blues lost to Brighton 4-1 on Saturday. Chelsea have the perfect match before a huge London derby clash against Arsenal on Sunday. Nice from Havertz to dig out a cross and find Sterling but the England international guides his half volley over. Will this prove the night Denis Zakaria finally makes his first appearance? Chelsea's Champions League group stage campaign ended in victory courtesy of debutant Denis Zakaria.
As the rain and wind intensified it was Chelsea who finished the stronger. Either side of the hour, Ben Chilwell crashed a shot into the side-netting and Mount was denied by a block, after which Potter made a triple substitution. He powerfully placed his shot past Livakovic, and despite the best efforts of Sadegh Moharrami on the line, the ball found its way in. [Kepa](https://www.chelseafc.com/en/teams/profile/kepa-arrizabalaga) was replaced by [Edouard Mendy](https://www.chelseafc.com/en/teams/profile/edouard-mendy) in goal. His fifth goal of the season was his first since Potter’s opening night in charge, six weeks and eight appearances ago. Havertz then twice went close to extending our advantage, thwarted by a combination of good defending and goalkeeping. After a muted quarter-hour, the goal sprung us into life, and we began to assert our dominance. [Ben Chilwell](https://www.chelseafc.com/en/teams/profile/ben-chilwell), who pulled up in stoppage time clutching the back of his thigh. A cross from the right was inadvertently headed back across his own six-yard box by Azpilicueta, leaving Petkovic with the simple task of nodding past Mendy. Having had to wait so long to play his first game, the Swiss international was understandably thrilled. It finished 2-1 to the Blues at a sodden Stamford Bridge with all the goals coming before half-time.
Chelsea 2-1 Dinamo: Sterling and Zakaria turned the game around after Petkovic's early opener.
Drifted all over the final third causing problems with his link play and clever ability to find space. Best player on the park for the first hour or so and nearly scored a late free-kick. Might have done better with a finish or two but also provided some really good cut-backs. A rampaging performer as he won the ball and carried it in equal measure. An overdue appearance in midfield and marked it with a goal, taken well, low and first time. A clumsy outing in truth, rushed in possession and conceding needless fouls. Better delivery in the second half but not his best night - but the worst of all was saved for stoppage time as he went down with an apparent hamstring injury, just weeks out from the World Cup. Might have done better for the early goal though and didn’t have the pace to get back after he pushed forward. Restored to right-back in a defensive quartet and was decent in build-up play as well as one-v-one battles. Took an early knock but recovered. Couldn’t do anything about the early goal but made a decent save from another header after the break. A first start under the new manager but didn’t have too much opportunity to impress.
CHELSEA finished up their Champions League group campaign with a 2-1 win over Dinamo Zagreb.
Rattled the crossbar with a beautifully curled effort after the interval. Subbed for Conor Gallagher. Constant threat in the second half down the left. There was a moment of panic when he went to the deck clutching his knee in the first half but managed to shake the problem of. Made a final save in the second half to deny Josip Sutalo following a corner. Chelsea took care of business professionally at Stamford Bridge as goals from Raheem Sterling and Denis Zakaria saw them record a 2-1 victory over Dinamo Zagreb in their final Champions League group match.
Denis Zakaria scores on his Chelsea debut as the Blues round off their successful Champions League Group E campaign with victory against Dinamo Zagreb.

Graham Potter's Chelsea look to extend their fine form in Europe as they face Dinamo Zagreb in hopes of redemption.
Although Dinamo Zagreb’s Champions League dream will come to an end at the conclusion of the game, the Croatian side could still steal a Europa League spot. Ante Cacic’s men would want to replicate their performance from the reverse fixture, a game that saw the end of Chelsea’s previous manager Thomas Tuchel. Since donning the managerial hat at Stamford Bridge, Graham Potter has transformed Chelsea into a formidable outfit.

There was a concerning moment for Chelsea in stoppage time when England international Ben Chilwell was forced off after going down clutching his left hamstring. Looks really upset as he lies on the floor. Too far out for a shot this, surely. Despite going behind to Bruno Petkovic’s early goal, Raheem Sterling equalised before on-loan Juventus midfielder Zakaria - who has had to wait for a chance to impress, struck.
It was a fourth Champions League win on the bounce for the Blues last night, meaning we topped Group E with 13 points and here we detail the key statistical ...
The fourth and final defender was Trevoh Chalobah, who continues his undefeated run of starts at Stamford Bridge. He has been used in a number of roles over the last few seasons but perhaps his most effective is when he is told to be free, operating in the pockets so he can get on the ball and create chances. Graham Potter handed a first Chelsea start to Swiss international Denis Zakaria in the middle of the park and he impressed on his debut.
Denis Zakaria and Raheem Sterling got on the scoresheet as Chelsea overcame Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - Knocked the ball back to Sterling for the England international's goal but perhaps looked most promising with his efforts attacking on the left side of the pitch. Raheem Sterling - Showed fantastic strength and composure in the build up to finding the net for Chelsea's equaliser. Kai Havertz - Played quite a fluid role alongside Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and was one of the Blues main outlets forward. Initiated the move that led to Raheem Sterling's goal and had one of his better nights. The Swiss international was soon showing his physicality and even the ability to score a goal as he slotted past a Dinamo defender and goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic. Showed quality on the ball on his return and after a slow start seemed to grow stronger in the tackle.
