Ipswich Town: Walton; Donacien (Vincent-Young, 16), Woolfenden, Burgess. But, from there, Ipswich took control. Striker Ladapo had the ball in the net on 88 but with a linesman’s flag having been raised. And a minute later the Blues went in front. From the corner, the ball was cleared to Vincent-Young, who hit an effort well over. His effort clipped someone on the way through and Walton was forced to bundle away, getting some distance on the ball as he did so. Keeper Bergstrom failed to deal with the high ball to the back post and Morsy lobbed it back into the area, but it was cleared. In the 54th minute, Walton was forced into his first save of the second half. And in the 31st minute, the visitors equalised. Posh went close to a leveller in the 27th minute from a 30-yard free-kick. However, Bergstrom was able to pounce on it, the keeper taking an accidental kick from Chaplin as he gathered. Town weren’t far away from doubling their lead on the half hour from a free-kick on the right. However, four minutes later, with Town still to get going, Donacien sat down after the ball had gone out of play and Kane Vincent-Young took over. However, a minute later, Town went in front.

Ipswich Town beat Peterborough United 2-1 in a League One clash at Portman Road yesterday. STUART WATSON reflects on the action.
There were no signs of rust from the silky attacker. After that there was a lot more zip to Town's play. Teams are going to target us on that from here on in. "The team that shows the most consistency in their performances and manages to maintain their mentality throughout the season will be successful in the end." "I just knew he was going to give the players a big boost and confidence lift because they think so highly of him," explained the Blues boss. We've got the winter coming up and we've got to stand up to that." The 33-year-old suffered a nasty looking knee injury at the end of August and has only been back in training for less than a fortnight. [McKenna conceded](https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/23087749.charlton-athletic-4-ipswich-town-4-kieran-mckenna-verdict/): "If there's a common theme then it is dealing with high balls into our box. "A weaker group of players might have gone into their shells at that moment, but we responded well at the end of that half and into the second half," said McKenna. A driving Burns run up the right really ignited team-mates and fans alike just prior to the winner. Chaplin has a superb knack of finding space in the heart of the box and then finding the extremities of the goal. Added to his six in six from earlier in the campaign that puts him into double figures and two shy of his finishing total from last season.

Providing that Chaplin is able to retain his fitness for the remainder of the campaign, he is likely to play a significant role in the club’s push for a place in the Championship. This was indeed a big victory for Ipswich as they now lead the way in League One due to the fact that Plymouth Argyle were only able to pick up a point in their clash with Cambridge United. The Tractor Boys were left frustrated last time out in the 1-1 draw at home to Fleetwood Town, with the visitors scoring a 96th-minute equaliser. It has been uncharacteristic for a side who had become known for their defensive resilience and although it has not held the league leaders back too much, McKenna will be keen for his team to rediscover their solidity. This was the perfect way to bounce back with a good performance and with a narrow advantage over Posh in the game, it would have been easy to become nervous as the clock ticked down.
