Weather charts from WX Charts also carry predictions of snow over Devon and Cornwall, with a heavy band slated to move over the area in the early hours of Wednesday (December 14). Staying dry in the east with some brightness into the afternoon, but increasingly breezy in the west with thickening cloud bringing patchy sleet and snow. Generally dry elsewhere albeit mostly cloudy, with the best brightness in the north. The Met Office is predicting snow could land over parts of the South West as early as today (Tuesday, December 13). Rain and snow remains possible in Cornwall and south Devon. The cold snap does not appear to be easing, either, with more sub-zero temperatures forecast for the region today.

Staying dry in the east with some brightness into the afternoon, but increasingly breezy in the west with thickening cloud bringing patchy sleet and snow. There is also an ice warning covering much of the South East, including London and Brighton until 11am on Tuesday. However, a change to milder and more unsettled weather is soon expected, probably during the first Sunday, as an area of cloud, rain and strong wind sweeps across much of the UK, with a period of snow on its leading edge for many regions. Somerset locations on higher ground could see snow today after the Met Office recorded a chilling low of -15.7C and highs of -9.3C at Braemer, in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Temperatures will also dip to -3C at 9pm, when the chance of snow increases to 60 per cent.
