The 19-year-old spoke to the clubs official media outlet after signing a contract extension.

I want to push myself on and off the pitch, which is what you need to do at a club like this. Especially at signing nights, it is great for us to be there for them. It is great to see how energetic the younger boys are when they see guys like Alex [Lowry] and myself coming to their signing nights. It is amazing that he is back in. I have had a few hard spells but it is all about learning. I love this club, so it was a no-brainer.

Rangers vs Hibs – LIVE updates (Scottish Daily Record)

Oh Scottish football how we've missed you as we put the World Cup to one side as our beloved game exits cold storage.

They've had a month as well to prepare for this game and look forward to it. And the 42-year-old believes he is the man to right Rangers as he aims to build on his stint as Steven Gerrard's key lieutenant We've been in their eyeline for a while but tonight needs to be about our players, our club, it needs to be about us getting three points. but what could a big team talk from Michael Beale spark in the second half? It's been a familiar theme at both ends. [Hibs](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/all-about/hibernian-fc) are likely to offer strong resistance against a side they grabbed a dramatic 2-2 draw with back in August. The next chance lies on Ellie Youan who forces Allan McGregor into a great save to put the ball out for a corner before Ryan Porteous is found unmarked in the box to break the deadlock. Chris Cadden looks to take on Adam Devine down the right-hand side but the young Rangers defender manages to slide in and concede a throw-in. Home punters are making the trip to Ibrox hoping Beale can usher in a new era as aims to warm the cockles of a fanbase who will be braving temperatures of -4 by the time the second half stars. Stick with us to find out. The set piece comes to nothing and that looks to be it for the half. The stakes are high and a win is of vital importance to both teams.

Beale tinkered his formation and whether it was that alone, some half-time man-management, or Hibs dropping a level, he got a response. Nisbet - in his first game since February after injury - burst into space vacated by James Tavernier and smashed a shot high into the net with the outside of his boot. You could feel it coming and then, quickly, along came a second goal. They took complete grip after a structural reshuffle and refused to let go. Consequently, the pressure is building on manager Lee Johnston.

Michael Beale is making Rangers excuses already claims the Hotline (Scottish Daily Record)

Beale is just hours away from his first competitive game in charge of Rangers and his pre-match conference split opinion as Fraser Wilson discovered.

That would explain the three disallowed goals for offside when they lost to Saudi Arabia, or is it just sour grapes because Portugal were better without Ronaldo and Messi is running riot for Argentina and could win it on Sunday? Alan Lough, Dunbar, said: “Pepe is an idiot to say that the World Cup is rigged for Argentina to win it for Messi. Deep down he must believe Rangers have a chance of clawing the points back but all that talk has to be kept in house.” And the new man in charge was honest enough to admit they need a helping hand from others if they’re to chip away at the champions. Borna Barasic is a squad player who only played for Croatia due to injury while Josip Juranovic is a starter and consistent performer. That led to callers arguing Barisic is in the same bracket.

MICHAEL BEALE marked his competitive bow as Rangers manager with a 3-2 victory over Hibernian at Ibrox. Rangers are now six points adrift of Celtic…

The animosity in that particular relationship has made suggestions of a summer switch from Easter Road to Ibrox such a topic of debate. Beale has only had a couple of weeks on the training ground but there will need to be far more time spent working on solving the defensive disasters that have plagued Rangers all season. If Beale sticks with this approach, there will be more chances to come for the Zambian in what must be a revitalised front line. The Ibrox boss admitted on Wednesday that his side will need a helping hand from their Premiership rivals if Celtic are to be caught and overtaken this term. The nine point gap that he inherited was always going to be difficult to overturn regardless of how this first outing transpired. The strike from Sakala was clinical, a set-piece routine paid off and Morelos provided the finishing touch to a lovely move to complete the comeback.

Adam Devine worked the ball onto his left foot before standing up a cross for Fashion Jr. It took just eight minutes into the second period for the home to fashion their first dangerous moment. Tavernier and Tillman were the architects once again, with the latter latching onto the captain’s through pass before leaving Paul Hanlon in his wake with a piece of nimble footwork. James Tavernier’s corner was met at the near post by Tillman, flicking a clever header onto Ryan Jack who bundled the ball over the goalline from point-blank range. and the Zambian made no mistake with his finish as he lashed through the legs of Rocky Bushiri and into the bottom corner. Parity was short-lived for the Ibrox side, however, as Hibs restored their lead less than a minute later. The dangerous Fashion Jr. and Alfredo Morelos coming into the starting lineup. After Allan McGregor did well to turn Elie Youan’s curling strike behind, Ryan Porteous headed home from the resulting corner.

Reaction from Ibrox after Rangers came back twice to win 3-2 against Hibs in manager Michael Beale's first competitive match in charge.

Unusually, Johnson returned to the media room having completed his post-match interview duties to alert journalists to the moment, which he had only just been briefed on by his Hibs staff (he hadn't mentioned it when he was in the room earlier). As for Colak, it doesn’t sound too serious – but will Beale be as prepared to pair Morelos and Colak together in an away game against Aberdeen on Tuesday, when Rangers will expect to be put under more pressure than at home against Hibs? It wasn’t mentioned in the post-match press conference as no one had seen the moment in the first half when the ball seemed to fall out of the sky onto James Sands’ arm while the Rangers defender was being put under pressure by Kevin Nisbet. [Rangers](/topic/rangers) was to “target” 19-year-old left back Adam Devine on what was only his second league start for the [Ibrox](/topic/ibrox) side. He added: "The reality that hit me tonight is there's a lot of anxiety to get through, but the character of the team is good and we dominated in the second half and we deserved to win the game." Alfredo Morelos's goal shortly after the hour mark sealed a win that left Rangers six points behind leaders and arch-rivals Celtic, with the reigning Scottish Premiership champions in action away to Aberdeen on Saturday.
