Strictly's Hamza Yassin has 'adopted' a Scottish family living next door (Leicestershire Live)

Wildlife cameraman and presenter Hamza Yassin, has danced his way into the Strictly Come Dancing Final, topping the leader board with partner Jowita ...

For around a year, he lived in his car and washed his clothes at the local community centre. During the recent interview, he also mentions his "Scottish parents, Chris and Amanda", more neighbours with whom he spends much of his time, including hosting film nights. Hence, why I love going to the Arctic to film." Then the fleet-footed presenter went on to complete a Masters in Biological Photography and Imaging from the University of Nottingham. Hamza first moved to Newcastle from Sudan, where he developed a Geordie accent, then to Northampton at the age of eight. But Hamza wasn't always in the limelight and was once effectively homeless at a point in his life. In Sudan, I used to get daily nosebleeds because I overheat. This came after falling in love with the Ardnamurchan peninsula during a holiday. While Hamza loves his village, where he has become the local wood chopper and animal nurse, it took some adjustment. However, its not just his dance partner he's performing for, but his Scottish 'family' back in Kilchoan. Wildlife cameraman and presenter Hamza Yassin, has danced his way into the Strictly Come Dancing Final, topping the leader board with partner Jowita Przystal. But she [Jowita] makes it so worthwhile, and just to see how happy she is, that’s all you ever want."

In October he also claimed never to have danced with a partner apart from some Gaelic dancing. Hamza, who spent the first eight years of his life in Sudan before coming to England, has wowed the judging panel.
