One of the most memorable characters in the beloved Christmas classic Elf is Wanda the Gimbels manager, but many don't know the story behind his name.

The second was Chris Farley, who was actually offered the role. The script for The team behind Elf hurriedly had to find another actor to play the role, with the film eventually landing on Fazion Love. While she would have most likely done a great job, Elf's beloved Gimbels manager would have been very different if Wanda Sykes was filling the character's shoes. And the name behind the character actually has a surprisingly interesting backstory, one most Elf viewers don't know anything about.
