He has since appeared in a number of productions, including some short films and even had a cameo role in The Railway Children Return. It is a [ dream come true](https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/news/celebs-tv/leeds-cbeebies-star-george-webster-23100183) for George, who told the BBC that he "loves" Strictly and watches it every year. These days, alongside his work with CBeebies, George acts as an ambassador for the disability charity, Mencap. He then went on to study a Creative Digital Media Production BTEC at Shipley College, which no doubt came in handy for his new career on TV. He said: "I’ve always dreamed of being on the show one year and I’m so excited to be on this year’s Christmas Special! He studied for his GCSEs and got qualifications in Maths, England, Media Studies, Food Tech and sport. George is originally from Rawdon in West Yorkshire and he went to school at St. Bring on the glitter and everything else. The BAFTA-winning actor made history when he became the first presenter on CBeebies with Down's Syndrome.

His work with CBeebies also allows him to do this, and he previously said: "If we can get children to think of disabilities in a different way they we're changing the world already. We need more representation of people with Down's Syndrome on TV in varied roles so we can be seen and understood." This year's Strictly Christmas line-up features George Webster, Alexandra Mardell, Nicola Roberts, Larry Lamb, Rickie Haywood-Williams and Rosie Ramsey.

Six celebrities and their dance partners performed seasonal routines in the hope of securing the silver star trophy.

The Christmas special opened with a group routine to a festive medley of Let It Snow, The Nutcracker Suite and Santa Claus Is Coming To Town featuring the celebrities and their professional partners. With Roberts dressed in a white glittery floor-length ballgown with feather trim and Pernice in a grey suit, they glided their way to a score of 39. I’m so happy about that, I did that for you (Kai) as well, I can’t believe it.”
