THE establishment in Helensburgh of Argyll and Bute's first Dolly Parton Imagination Library has been hailed in the Scottish Parliament.
The initiative has been congratulated at Holyrood by Helensburgh’s MSP, Jackie Baillie, who attended the launch of the hub – alongside a lifesize cut-out of Dolly herself – and who has now lodged a member’s motion which, as this issue of the Advertiser went to press, had been signed by 19 other MSPs from the Labour, Conservative and SNP ranks. As reported in the Advertiser, the reading initiative is being hosted at the Helensburgh Community Hub in East Princes Street and will see children who enrol from birth up to the age of five get the chance to build up a home library of up to 60 books.
