A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call from Scottish Fire and Rescue Service of a fire at the New County Hotel at 05:05hrs. A blue incident tent was set up across from the hotel. I extend my sympathy to everyone affected by this tragedy.

Three people died after a massive fire broke out at the Hotel County in Perth. Evacuation was carried out to rescue those trapped inside the hotel.

As the hotel was up in flames, guests staying there and some people from the neighbouring flats were evacuated immediately.
