The new Amt-Man 3 trailer features MODOK, but who is playing the supervillain, and how does that connect to the first movie?
Plus anything seems possible in the Quantum Realm, with Janet van Dyne stating that Kang can “rewrite existence,” and “shatter timelines.” In the first Ant-Man movie, Cross was a brilliant scientist with questionable ethics, who used Pym tech to turn himself into supervillain Yellowjacket. in the movie, and confirmed that an old Ant-Man character is returning. This is how Marvel describes the character in the company’s With his body unable to support that weight, he uses a weaponized hovering throne dubbed the Doomsday Chair. Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania's new trailer reveals a surprising MCU villain twist with the introduction of MODOK.
As an acronym for 'Mental Organism Designed Only For Killing', MODOK is about as iconic as they come in terms of Marvel villains and has a complicated history with the [MCU](https://www.digitalspy.com/movies/a825774/marvel-cinematic-universe-in-chronological-order/). We already met a Kang Variant in the form of [Loki's He Who Remains](https://www.digitalspy.com/movies/a37064683/ant-man-quantumania-kang-loki/), but this guy is the 'main' Kang we assume Earth's Mightiest Heroes will be going up against. We've seen legacy villains like Red Skull and Loki return, and with us never having seen Cross die, it's a clever twist on the source material to make him MODOK. Remembering time works differently in the Quantum Realm, Cross' new look could come from the fact he might have been trapped down there for decades, centuries, even millenniums. MODOK purists might be annoyed they've fused two characters instead of getting a comics-accurate creation, but at least he looks the part. Rumours were already swirling that Ant-Man's Corey Stoll would be playing MODOK and thanks to the latest trailer, we now know it's true. Tarleton underwent mutagenic procedures that massively increased his intelligence but left him with MODOK's signature oversized head. [the MCU's recent Intelligencia teases](https://screenrant.com/she-hulk-intelligencia-captain-america-4-return/) suggest that the new supervillain may not be wholly allegiant to Kang. Although Ant-Man appeared to kill its main villain by sending him to the Quantum Realm, the 2018 sequel, [Ant-Man and the Wasp](http://screenrant.com/tag/ant-man-2/), revealed that imprisonment in the subatomic zone is far from a death sentence. If he and MODOK remain allied through the end of Quantumania, audiences will likely see Cross's new villainous form in multiple upcoming projects as he continues to do his master's bidding. MODOK appears for the first time in the final trailer for ...
I’m not sure if this version has any resemblance to George Tarleton (the original character from the comics), or if this is Darren Cross, transformed into a floating head because of the events from the first Ant-Man film. Because of that, I applaud the people behind Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. And possibly, these may be the worst or the best of it. What do you think of M.O.D.O.K.’s look in the MCU? Electric’s face was a walking TV set, the face is pretty much flat, while MODOK’s face is rendered in full 3D. Not a lot of people are impressed with how MODOK turned out in the trailers. The previous trailers didn’t show us any image of the character. In the comics, M.O.D.O.K. You also get to understand why [Paul Rudd’s](https://www.small-screen.co.uk/paul-rudd-almost-left-ant-man-after-edgar-wrights-exit/) Scott Lang makes decisions that were pretty much the result of what happened in [Avengers: Endgame](https://www.small-screen.co.uk/tag/avengers-endgame/). While it retained the giant head and small limbs, the character looks basically like a robot. It’s a toy and it doesn’t represent what the movie version will be. It gives us a clearer idea of who [Kang the Conqueror](https://www.small-screen.co.uk/ant-man-3-leaked-image-teases-a-scary-kang/) is.
Here's everything you need to know about Ant-Man and the Wasp's new villain, MODOK -- his powers, history and origin explained!
And as the trailer showed him in his floating suit in the Quantum Realm, there's a chance it was built by none other than Kang too. But now, after centuries of servitude, Renfield is finally ready to see if there’s a life away from The Prince of Darkness. The floating foe has played a role in 20 video games, most prominently as the final boss in Marvel's Avengers. The latter was the first series that changed his name from M.O.D.O.K. But thanks to the iconic nature of the character, he's been adapted in many, many Marvel animated series over the years. And as we saw him getting mutilated by his broken suit, there's a very real chance that the transformation could have left him with only an outsized head. If we go back to the last place that we saw Yellowjacket, getting violently shrunk down to subatomic size by the titular hero in the first film, it all begins to come together. Stoll was seen momentarily in the trailer, his face enlarged to giant proportions. Focusing the energy from his brain through his high-tech head sock, he can create a powerful ray of catastrophic power which is incredibly destructive. [The new Ant-Man trailer](/articles/ant-man-and-the-wasp-quantumania-trailer-teases-the-battle-between-scott-lang-and-kang-the-conqueror) showcases an epic battle between Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and [Kang the Conqueror](/articles/loki-finale-explained-kang-who-is-he-who-remains-jonathan-majors) (Jonathon Majors) after the hero and his family accidentally open a portal to the Quantum Realm... It was once retconned that his original name was supposed to be Mental Organism Only Designed for Computation. was once a mere guinea pig for the scientists of A.I.M.
Corey Stoll, who played Darren Cross/Yellowjacket in the first Ant-Man film will return as MODOK in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
However, there has been no confirmation that MODOK and Cross are in any way related. However, the MCU has a habit of bringing back characters that have been killed off, whether through time travel or multiverses - and it’s possible that Cross could return. He became the supervillain Yellowjacket with his own special suit which allows him to change size like Ant-Man. MODOK was a scientist before being transformed into a supervillain and his aim is to replace all superheroes with machines that only he can control. MODOK is a major Marvel villain - the name is an acronym for Mental/Mobile/Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing. The movie will see the return of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym.
Stoll had long been rumoured to be playing the iconic comic book villain. Kathryn Newton as Cassie and Paul Rudd as Scott in Ant-Man and the Wasp.
