There is one friendly today as the Championship's newest side Keighley Cougars journey down under to take on Newcastle Thunder.

However, fans had raised concerns that the game would not go ahead. They take on Dewsbury Rams this weekend, who will want promotion to the Championship in 2023, so it will be an interesting first look at Mark Dunning’s Super League hopefuls. It will be interesting to get a look at this Wakefield team again as the new season draws closer and whether they can shock a few in 2023.

Whitehaven confirm squad numbers ahead of 2023 Championship ... (Love Rugby League)

Whitehaven have released their squad numbers ahead of the 2023 Championship campaign, with Scotland international Guy Graham getting the number 17.

Jamie Doran has made the switch to his hometown club Whitehaven after eight seasons with Workington. Callum Phillips, who has represented Scotland on the international stage, retains the number nine. Widnes academy product Sam Freeman will don the number one shirt for Whitehaven in 2023. The Wigan academy product will wear the number 14 jersey. The Cumbrian club have made eight new signings ahead of the new Championship campaign. Whitehaven have released their squad numbers ahead of the 2023 Championship campaign, with Scotland international Guy Graham getting the number 17.
