The first group of skaters includes former Eastenders actress Patsy Palmer and Love Island winner Ekin-Su Culculoglu.

The Olympic gymnast will be taking part in his first televised contest since retiring in 2021.

Nile's upcoming challenge has been highly anticipated following his announcement in 2021 that he would retire from gymnastics due to injuries he sustained. Prior to this, he had already established himself as a world medallist after being part of the successful silver medal-winning British team at the 2015 World Artistic Gymnastics Championship - the world's first men's team medal in British gymnastics history. Absolutely buzzing to be on the show. Nile, who is partnered with Olivia Smart, also told the Evening Standard that he will be used to the pressure and judging from the competition due to his experience in Gymnastics, stating: "I won't feel disheartened or upset, it's going to be completely normal for me." Starring in the line-up is Siva Kaneswaran who is best known for being a member of the boyband The Wanted. In March 2022 band member Tom passed away from an inoperable brain tumour. A lack of eccentric characters in the line-up meant it was lamentably low on laughs. One of the more ghoulish reasons to watch is the possibility of pratfalls. Figure-skating might be a dangerous discipline but compared to Channel 4 skiing bloodbath The Jump - axed after filling Alpine hospitals with crocked C-listers - the mild peril of Dancing On Ice seems positively Health & Safety-compliant. Heaton was harshly marked and finished bottom of the standings but happily won enough public backing to survive. Among the few things Dancing On Ice had going for it was the popularity of presenting duo Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, a pairing beloved from daytime stalwart This Morning. We’ll have to wait until next Sunday for the delights of former footballer and Gladiators host John Fashanu - although he did pop up in the audience and gamely give us an “Awooga!”.
