The first Mandalorian season 3 poster arrives reuniting Grogu and Pedro Pascal's Din Djarin ahead of the first trailer's arrival for the Disney+ show.
Though set up for her own spinoff in season 2, The Mandalorian season 3 will not see the return of Gina Carano as Cara Dune following a string of controversial political social media posts that led to Lucasfilm firing her. Whether the trailer drops during the latter half of the game, as was the case with the Marvel Cinematic Universe threequel's, or earlier is unknown. The new season is said to follow Din and Grogu heading to Mandalore in order to try and redeem himself for showing his face, while also seeking to bring an end to the civil war that's been going on. The series will feature the introduction of two Star Wars newcomers with Back to the Future vet Christopher Lloyd, whose role is being kept under wraps but described as a guest-starring appearance, and Saturday Night Live alum Tim Meadows in a similar new position. First premiering in late 2019, The Mandalorian has scored rave reviews from critics and audiences alike and helped launch a whole universe of projects for Disney+, including the direct spin-offs The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka. The fight looks to be a heated one, however, as the titular bounty hunter's cape can be seen burning up as he carries his adopted son away from the explosive confrontation.

Joel and Ellie’s journey was always going to work well in prestige television, but I wasn’t expecting this level of creative deviation while still doing justice to the core narrative, especially when it comes to its two lead characters. He’s both another survivor and a renowned mercenary who operates between the lines to come out on top, and even then is subject to double-crossing deals for archaic car batteries and bloodshed whenever situations call for it. This version of Joel has and will kill people to get by, throwing compassion to the wayside alongside the death of his daughter that ended his world as the one around him began to fall apart. Joel has a more defined backstory now, clearly a big presence in the Boston Quarantine Zone as he skips ration lines and bandits cower in fear at the mere mention of his name. Serving time in the military and likely accustomed to loss and perseverance, he wants for little and is willing to work hard so long as it provides for those who matter, even when it means forgetting to celebrate his own birthday with the only family he has left. While as a family unit they are as small as it gets, how much they mean to one another is plain to see.
