Chris Eubank Jr: It was a 'once in a lifetime' shot by Liam Smith | 'I ... (Sky Sports)

Chris Eubank Jr tells Sky Sports he wants rematch vs Liam Smith, saying he lost to a once in a lifetime shot, and was dominating before that; ...

"I think he's probably going to have to tweet about it and have to talk about it right away. It was a shot that landed, and it's a fight I think the fans will still want to see further down the line." I think it just needs to be a big name." So he deserves another big fight at least and I don't think it needs to be for a world title. "I think what he might be looking at now may be just getting some money in the bank at the end of his career. "He took his time from round one, he won round one and round two on my card, bit of a bad round three. "I don't know how he's done the weight or if it's a problem for him, but at 33 years old, middleweight may not be for him. "I think a lot of people didn't see this happening, and it happened, but that's okay. He threw a bunch of shots and one of them landed and it dazed me. It's part of the journey and I've still got a lot left so we'll see what happens later on in the year. "And he caught me with a once-in-a-lifetime shot. "I felt like I could go on.

Liam Smith topples Chris Eubank Jr with brutal knockdown to end ... (The Independent)

It was an unforgettable fight and a reminder of just what boxing can deliver on nights when fairy tales and nightmares collide.

Both need a rest from the fury of the week and the night. It really was a shocking end and, in the secret tunnels at the Manchester Arena at midnight, there was still a great sense of surprise. Patience, at this level, is the equivalent of power and guts; Smith had patience, Eubank had his notorious power and guts. It was a final piece of drama on a night of extremes and also an act of great kindness. Smith was willing and there was a hateful moment when it looked like Smith would oblige, but thankfully his trainer, Joe McNally, wrapped Eubank Jr in a caring embrace and shuffled him back to the safety of his own corner and the care of Roy Jones Jr. The action came close to continuing once it was done; Eubank was up, still reeling and he wanted to fight some more as the ring filled with the joyous and concerned from both contrasting corners.

Eubank Jr was badly knocked out by Liam Smith on Saturday night and Benn thinks he would have finished his rival even quicker if their fight wasn't ...

The truth is what I was after, the truth is what I got," he wrote. Benn has maintained his innocence since the fight was cancelled, insisting that he wouldn't bother spending money on trying to clear his name if he willingly took a banned substance. The son-of-a-legend posted a video of himself reacting to the fight alongside his dad Nigel in which he could be heard saying: "What you saying dad? Benn was scheduled to fight Eubank Jr last October but the fight was cancelled after Benn failed two pre-fight drug tests. Smith was relentless in seeking the finish and dropped his rival just moments later, with the fight rightfully being waved off as Eubank Jr didn't know where he was. The fight was fairly even after the opening three rounds but Smith landed a big flurry in the fourth stanza that backed Eubank Jr into a corner, with an uppercut followed by a left hook sending him down.
