Manchester United takeover: Key questions answered about ... (Sky Sports)

Sky Sports News chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol answers questions around a potential Man Utd takeover, including if Qatari interest is rivalling Sir Jim ...

"The second thing is that the club needs to be now in good hands and with someone who has feelings for the club. A winning Manchester United is difficult to stop - we've seen that in the past. If you look at Liverpool, Anfield is being developed and they have a virtually brand-new training ground, so the investment required in infrastructure would be less. "Sir Jim Ratcliffe was born in Manchester and knows the area. Especially when there is probably around £1bn needed to be spent on improvements to the training ground, stadium and general infrastructure? It could be done before the end of the season but there is no hard or fast deadline, as there was with Chelsea. Al-Khelaifi is also the president of Paris Saint-Germain and the European Club Association and UEFA rules would make it difficult for QSI to own another big European club, although they have recently bought a 21 per cent stake in Portuguese club Braga. Chelsea went for £2.5bn but Newcastle was picked up for £300m - and PSG cost the relatively small amount of £60m in 2011, less than some players are signed for these days! The Glazer family want £6bn for the club - but it is currently valued at £2.9bn on the New York Stock Exchange. If QSI bought Man Utd, for example, they could noy play in the Champions League in the same season as PSG. Last year there were more than 100 expressions of interest in buying Chelsea - although that was an exceptional case, with a deadline driven by a global news story and also the aspect of some bidders looking for publicity. Liverpool and Man Utd are effectively for sale and there are lots of other clubs looking for investment.

Erik ten Hag set to ignore Joel Glazer wish after huge Man Utd ... (Mirror.co.uk)

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is expected to be given a significant transfer budget if a takeover is completed, which could lead to a major squad ...

[Join the debate!](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/manutd-takeover-ten-hag-glazer-29168519#comments-section) Do you think Man Utd should be trying to move Martial on in the summer? And with the Glazers no longer set to be in the picture, it is highly unlikely that Martial will be given another unexpected Old Trafford lifeline by Ten Hag. [Cristiano Ronaldo](https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/cristiano-ronaldo) back in November, finding a new No.9 is United's top summer priority. After being farmed out on loan during the second half of last season, Martial was handed a shock reprieve by Ten Hag following his arrival in the summer. Such a sum is not expected to be an issue for Manchester United, who kept their powder dry in the January transfer window; especially if a lucrative takeover is finalised in the coming months. [The Manchester Evening News](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/anthony-martial-man-united-transfer-26165213) claimed earlier this week that, with a takeover on the horizon, Martial is among a group of players who [could be offloaded at the end of the current campaign.](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-utd-transfers-maguire-martial-29131509) Any move would see Martial's eight-year association with the club come to an abrupt end. [Let us know here.](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/manutd-takeover-ten-hag-glazer-29168519#comments-section) [Joel Glazer,](https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/joel-glazer) who it was once claimed even stepped in to prevent the striker from being sold during [Jose Mourinho's](https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/jose-mourinho) tenure. [The Daily Mail,](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11724143/Manchester-United-Qatari-investors-make-bid-club-DAYS.html) the Qatari group are confident that their package will 'blow the competition out of the water' and are willing to hand [Erik ten Hag](https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/erik-ten-hag) a substantial transfer war chest to take [Manchester United](https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/manchester-united-fc) [back to the pinnacle of European football.](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/man-utd-qatar-takeover-glazers-29160589) [Tottenham](https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/tottenham-hotspur-fc) talisman [Harry Kane](https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/harry-kane) and [Napoli](https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/napoli) forward Victor Osimhen have emerged as [two of the club's top targets this week.](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manutd-ten-hag-kane-transfer-29158951) But neither are likely to come cheap, with Spurs and Napoli both expected to demand in excess of £100million for their respective star strikers. [putting Manchester United on the market,](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/breaking-man-utd-sale-glazers-28560104) the takeover process is beginning to heat up. [Sir Jim Ratcliffe](https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/jim-ratcliffe) had already publicly confirmed that he would be bidding for the club, but reports on Tuesday night revealed that a group of wealthy Qatari investors are now [ready to launch a bid of their own](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/man-utd-takeover-sale-qatar-29159663) to acquire the club from the Glazers.
