Thankfully the striker’s touch took him wide as he stepped round Walton and the chance was eventually gone. A two-minute conference between referee and assistant resulted in a penalty. The goal, once again, came from a free-kick as Davis' effort from around 30 yards, which may well have taken a deflection off a head on the way through, found the top corner. Broadhead pulled one back for the Blues with two minutes of regulation time remaining in the first half, curling a delightful free-kick into the top corner, via the underside of the bar, from the edge of the D to open his account for the Club.

He cuts the ball back into the heart of the box and Chaplin, under pressure, loops his shot into Daswon's arms. Sends a good angled forward pass out to the left. Smith thumps over the bar after a move from left to right. Clarke then clips a ball over the top for Hirst to chase. Chaplin strikes the dropping ball with a really clean volley on the edge of the box... Town get the free-kick. Town far too weak when dealing with a cross from the left. Wins the header and subsequently clatters Johnson. Played out to Humphreys on the corner of the box. 19: Conor Chaplin puts his spot-kick low and down the middle. Looping cross just about plucked out of the air by a back-pedalling Dawson. Gets away with a poor touch and bundles his way down the inside left.
