PREVIEW Oxford United v Plymouth Argyle (Oxford United)

Oxford United welcome Plymouth Argyle to the Kassam Stadium this evening in Sky Bet League 1 (7.45pm)

One of the things that stands out about Karl's team is the rotation throughout the attacking players, so that takes a bit of figuring out. We defended really well, counterattacked, and scored a couple of times. Matt Butcher of Plymouth Argyle scores to take the lead during the Sky Bet EFL League One match between Oxford United and Plymouth Argyle at the Kassam Stadium, ...

Argyle play a long ball over the top and Hardie is able to get on the end of it. He slides the ball across to Joseph who spins and gets his shot away. The U's look on top here. The home side look full of confidence and are arguably on top again here. Ryan Hardie kills the game in stoppage time and makes it 3-1!! The substitute Wright nearly bags a goal with his first few touches. The goalscorer Cameron Brannagan is booked. Gillesphey stands over the ball. Of course, they previously won four of the five games before this run and they'll be hoping to replicate something similar in the next five. Plymouth Argyle head to the Kassam Stadium tonight as they take on Oxford United in a clash that could be critical in this season's League One title race. We defended really well, counterattacked, and scored a couple of times. Tonight's opponents are situated in 16th position, just eight points above the relegation places.

Matt Butcher and Saxon Earley scored their first goals for Argyle in a 3-1 win over Oxford.

“Maybe the players are playing with a bit of fear at times. He said: “I don’t think it was a 3-1 game. “And I can’t speak highly enough of Matt Butcher – he’s a great professional. He’s been waiting in the wings. He’s a great kid and he’s had to wait patiently but he took his chance tonight. In the second half we were better.

Oxford United beaten at home by League One leaders Plymouth ... (Oxford Mail)

Saxon Earley and Ryan Hardie won the game for Argyle, but only after Brandon Fleming was denied a goal from a free kick which goalkeeper Callum Burton caught ...

Goodrham did well down the left and drew a foul out of Lonwijk on the left corner of the box. United almost grabbed an immediate equaliser when Ciaron Brown charged down the left flank and laid the ball off to Joseph inside the area, with the Swansea City loanee forcing a low save out of Burton. Luckily for the U’s goalkeeper, the ball dropped over the crossbar and onto the top of the goal’s netting. Just prior to the start of the game, Beauchamp’s daughters walked the match ball onto the pitch and delivered it to the match officials. Kyle Joseph lined up a 20-yard piledriver, which stung the gloves of goalkeeper Callum Burton, who was able to palm the ball to safety. The match at the Kassam Stadium saw fans celebrate the life of U’s legend Joey Beauchamp with a series of tributes prior to kick-off.
