Download Festival has added over 40 new names to its line-up today (February 16) and has announced its 2023 day splits.

Though the full-size Download couldn’t happen in 2021 either, the festival made history by holding a downscaled pilot event as part of the UK Government’s Events Research Programme. Download Festival returned last summer after a two-year break during the pandemic. This meant the campsites were now much closer to the arena than in previous years. Offering the chance to relive the best bits from this year at Donington, it features a killer soundtrack with Those Damn Crows, Cassyette and Sleep Token along with highlights from headliners KISS, Iron Maiden and Biffy Clyro. There are now just over 100 days until the festival gets underway. Day tickets will go on sale at the same time.

The mighty Iron Maiden brought their spectacular Legacy of the Beast World Tour to Donington Park in June 2022. Whether it's their last ever UK show remains to be seen. French gothic electronic musician Perturbator, incendiary Canadian heavy rock duo Cleopatrick, Mexican metal sisters The Warning and French dark-synth pioneer Carpenter Brut are all on the bill. They will join headliners Slipknot, Bring Me The Horizon and Metallica. Californian punk veterans The Bronx will also be returning, along with metalcore legend and former lead vocalist of The Dillinger Escape Plan Greg Puciato, and LA metal heavyweights Bad Wolves.
