Sam Dalby's stoppage-time header secured a dramatic win away to Aldershot Town after a high-scoring encounter at the EBB Stadium.
An excellent Cleworth tackle set up a counter-attack on 72 minutes, as Palmer played Mullin in behind the defence, but Ashby-Hammond stretched out a left leg to save. But Wrexham restored the two-goal lead on 35 minutes. Lee went close again in the 81st minute, working the ball onto his right-foot and shooting low, but Ashby-Hammond saved and the ball was cleared behind for a corner. And on 74 minutes, Lee played Mullin in on his right-foot, but the striker was just off balance as he fired his right-footed shot over. At the other end, Ashby-Hammond had to be out quickly on 59 minutes to beat Palmer to a lofted ball over the top. The second goal on 23 minutes was Wrexham at their very best, however, as Mullin applied the finishing touch to a move that started at the back.

WREXHAM'S leading scorer Paul Mullin eclipsed last season's tally as Wrexham won 4-3 against Aldershot Town at The Recreation Ground.
Mullin was put through on goal by Palmer but denied by Ashby-Hammon while Tunnicliffe, who replaced O'Connell for the start of the second half, headed over from Luke Young's corner. Amaluzor came even closer for the home side as he only just cleared the bar and with Wrexham being put under more pressure, Jordan only just cleared the bar with a header. Hutchinson netted for Aldershot but the ball went out of play before the cross came in and the goal was disallowed. However, Wrexham went upfield and made it 2-0 in the 23rd minute. Jake Hutchinson headed wide from Justin Amaluzor's centre at the other end but Wrexham then won their first corner of the game and when the danger wasn't cleared, Cleworth's header from Ben Tozer's cross was saved by Asbhy-Hammond. Anthony Forde fed Ollie Palmer who pulled the ball back to Elliot Lee and his shot struck the hand of Haji Mnoga in the area.
Rob McElhenney has offered his thoughts on Wrexham's win over Aldershot, reaffirming just how nerve wracking he finds watching his side.
