West Brom vs Boro - Live match updates from the Hawthorns (Teesside Live)

Middlesbrough continue their promotion push this afternoon as they take on fellow top-six hopefuls West Brom at the Hawthorns.

It’s a moment that we are not getting the results because we are not performing at the level we need to perform to get the results. We'll then have action and analysis from the Boro game, while we'll also keep you updated throughout with any goals at Sheffield United, as they take on Watford. “In the first half (at Watford) we defended more than we wanted to defend because we didn’t manage the ball how we wanted to. “The games need a good balance in the situations. They’re a good group and we’ll be expecting the best version of them." We didn’t attack how we wanted to in the first half. "I know they might have had a mixed result or two over the last week or so, but I don’t think that will affect them too much. “They’re a really challenging opponent because they’re a team full of ability and are well organised. - West Brom have lost three of their five in the Championship after winning nine of their previous ten. In place at the Hawthorns ahead of today's game. [Carlos Corberan's side](https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/all-about/west-bromwhich-albion-fc) have not won in three games but are unbeaten on home turf since they lost the head coach's first game in charge on October 29. West Brom confirmed XI v Middlesbrough - (West Brom News)

Carlos Corberan's West Brom starting XI for their crucial Sky Bet Championship clash with Middlesbrough has been confirmed by the club.

The club are slowly losing track in their playoff charge and looking unidentical to the side that rampaged towards the Championship top six before the turn of the year. With the Baggies faltering in recent weeks, failing to win any of their last three league games and sitting five points outside the Championship playoff places, this contest is a must-win game for Corberan and his men. Ahead of what should be an intriguing and engrossing contest at the Hawthorns, Corberan will be looking for a reaction from his side against a rampant Middlesbrough side sitting third in the table.

West Brom player ratings v Middlesbrough as Pieters, Griffiths, Swift ... (Birmingham Live)

Daryl Dike bagged his fourth and fifth West Bromwich Albion goals - both in the first ten minutes - as Albion sealed a big three points in their home clash ...

Definitely an improvement from Albrighton, who helped to create a chance for Dike in the second half. Albion's fan favourite claimed an assist for the first and played his part in the second. As much as Boro threatened to build up a head of steam in the first half, it was actually Albion who were much quicker out of the traps at the beginning of the second. Fine finish for the first goal, perhaps thankful for the opportunity to convert the second! Dominant in his position and combined superbly with Diangana to create a chance for Molumby. A little erratic at times, but some of the moments he produced were quality. On hand to head everything clear in the first period, and picked his passes too - including one, which surprised everyone Had plenty of attacking threat to contend with, but he saw off Forss and then dealt with Izzy Jones off the bench. Maybe could've dealt with a first-half Boro move at source when he lost a battle for the ball when pressing high, but otherwise this was another showing worthy of his season. Swift slipped Dike in this time, and although Steffen as equal to his first effort, he followed up for a quick-fire double. Indeed they came closer to scoring the third goal of the game before the break when Grady Diangana and Conor Townsend superbly combined but Wallace couldn't keep his shot down. John Swift, playing centrally here, picked up a position on the left and expertly slipped in winger Jed Wallace down the same flank.

Middlesbrough: Carrick's call for perspective after West Brom setback (The Northern Echo)

Middlesbrough's unbeaten run in the Championship came to an end at West Brom but Michael Carrick says he won't be too hard on his players.

We knew it would be a quick start from them and we wanted to take control of it and I thought we did that really well for a short period of time. "But at the same point we'll learn and improve. We won't be too hard on ourselves or beat ourselves up because we've come a long way in a short space of time. "We kept believing. "This (The Hawthorns) is a tough place to come, we knew that, but giving soft goals away is the frustrating thing. But Boro, who host Reading this coming Saturday, are still third and five points clear of seventh-place.
