An English Rose in Georgia: Harry Potter's world (Bryan County News)

The food and customs of the muggle (non-wizarding) world as well as the boarding school traditions, dormitories and four school houses deeply resonated with those of us brought up in the UK during the 1970s and 1980s, as J.K. The exhibition did a good job of evoking the wizarding world and making us smile. I knew that the Harry Potter Exhibition had been touring around the USA, and when the editor of this newspaper pointed out to me that it would be closing in Georgia at the end of February, I decided to prioritize a visit to Atlanta. During her time in London the idea of Harry Potter and the wizarding world came to her as she sat on a delayed train! I don’t think that the fact that millennials (born 1981-1996) generally have a great love of alternate worlds and fantasy fiction is a coincidence! I have long been a fan of the Harry Potter books and the imaginary world created by British author J.K.

The Most Powerful Wizard in Harry Potter Could Have Easily ... (CBR)

Plenty of witches and wizards have excelled in a particular niche in Harry Potter, but one mastered all facets and could have defeated Voldemort.

He was also notably accomplished in herbology, dueling, wandless magic and spell creation, as well as combating the Dark Arts, all of which secured his role as one of the most well-rounded magic users of his time or any other. [Voldemort, Grindelwald and other dark wizards](https://www.cbr.com/voldemort-vs-grindelwald-which-wizarding-world-villain-is-more-powerful/) was his ability to understand ancient magic, a far more potent form of spell casting. He differed greatly from many Slytherins both at the time and since because he was a great believer in the rights of muggles to live peacefully alongside wizardkind. After leaving the school, Merlin joined the Court of King Arthur and became friends with Sir Cadogan, a relationship that enabled him to secure a position as part of the Knights of the Round Table. As well as having the significant privilege of appearing on a chocolate frog card alongside the likes of Dumbledore, he also gives his name to the Order of Merlin award. Despite having been born a thousand years before the events of the Harry Potter series, in around the year 982, his influence was still very much felt in the books and subsequent films.

7 Pensieve Memories The Harry Potter Movies Cut (Screen Rant)

The Pensieve was a useful device in Harry Potter that showed the Wizarding World's past, but the movie cut most of these moments, altering the story.

The Dark Lord's purpose in the castle had always been to hide his Horcrux, Ravenclaw's diadem, in the Room of Requirement, where Harry would find it years later in Harry Potter. Harry's final trip into the Pensieve was included in the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 movie, but only a few of Severus Snape's memories were featured. However, it had extraordinary significance in the book, not just because of the DADA curse reveal, but because it gave Harry a hint at a location of a Horcrux in Deathly Hallows. The teenage Tom Riddle had discovered the identity of his mother's family but was disappointed when he went looking and found only Morfin living in the abandoned hovel that was his home. Incidentally, this was the house of the Riddle family, whom Voldemort had murdered when he was in school. In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Voldemort lured Harry to the Department of Mysteries at the Ministry of Magic so that Harry could retrieve a prophecy. Harry knew from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets that one of Voldemort's first murders had been Myrtle Warren (Moaning Myrtle). It was a cruel way to have been conceived, which helped Harry understand the loveless way Voldemort had come into the world in Harry Potter. Dressed in rags and covered in dirt, she sold to Burke the only thing she owned of value, Slytherin's locket. In the movie, the headmaster wanted his student to see the first moment he met the Dark Lord as a child and reveal that, even in school, Voldemort had been searching for a solution to mortality in the Horcruxes. Harry still dove into the Pensieve, a device used to view memories firsthand, a handful of times in the Harry Potter movies. [Harry Potter](http://screenrant.com/tag/harry-potter/) books, but most of these moments were cut from the films.

JK Rowling: author claims she was 'bullied' out of a Harry Potter ... (Edinburgh News)

Edinburgh-based author JK Rowling claims fans “hounded” her for her opinions.

In 2020, the author took to Twitter to say she took issue with the term “people who menstruate” being used instead of “women”. I’m clearly an idiot who doesn’t know anything. I’m not familiar in that room.

I Need To Know What 'Very Bland' Opinion Got J.K. Rowling Kicked ... (The Mary Sue)

Ideas that might seem bland to J.K. Rowling tend to be utterly noxious and offensive to reasonable people.

What did she say that didn’t just get her dunked on by her own fans, but swiftly kicked out of the chatroom? Rowling’s reaction to the incident is telling, because it falls exactly in line with her imperious and condescending attitude toward any criticism of racism, antisemitism, and transphobia in the things she writes or says. What was the opinion she shared!? She says she “got rounded on by users who told me in no uncertain terms to get out.” “Queen of the Rabid TERFs” Rowling we’re talking about.
