Bristol City pair doubts for Huddersfield Town trip as quartet remain ... (Yorkshire Post)

Bristol City could be without defender Tomas Kalas and midfielder Joe Williams against Huddersfield Town. The pair are both doubts after they went off in ...

They have a game in-hand on Blackpool, Cardiff and QPR above them and need to take advantage of it if they are to avoid slipping into League One. They remain without long-term absentees Ayman Benarous and Rob Atkinson with both poised to be out for the rest of the campaign. Nevertheless, their upturn in form has been promising over recent times and they will not want to end the season with a whimper.

Huddersfield Town vs Bristol City live updates from the John Smith's ... (Yorkshire Live)

The Terriers' busy run of fixtures continues as they one again take to the John Smith's Stadium hoping to boost their slim survival hopes against Nigel ...

He is about to pick it up and round the keeper before he hits the deck under heavy pressure from a defender, allowing the keeper to gather it - surely a penalty? Town attack well with Hungbo and Diarra combining to try and send Rudoni through, but Sykes tracked back superbly to cut out a decent through-ball from Diarra. They cross, but Scott miscues his volley, with the ball spinning up and landing about 90 degrees to his right. A quick Town break ends with Rudoni going behind the City defence to win a bouncing ball and knocking it down into the box for Diarra to chase. Bristol City go on the counter with Koroma also losing a 50/50 before Pearson is burnt for pace, but Scott's heavy touch at the byline takes it out for a goal kick. Town counter, with Diarra winning the ball back well after losing it unnecessarily, but they can't make the move come to anything. He goes inside to Rudoni, who moves it on to find Koroma's run from the right wing, but his shot is wide of the far bottom corner. Diarra does well to carry the ball past his man inside the Town half and find Waghorn on the left with a switch of play. King head it out and Town can't keep it just outside the box. He tries to touch it back to Diarra, but it's slightly misdirected and the youngster isn't alert enough to adjust and get to it. Rudoni shoots from the edge of the box, but it's a fairly comfortable save. Bristol City go on a counter and cross from the left.

Huddersfield Town 0 Bristol City 0: Terriers claim a clean sheet but ... (Yorkshire Post)

But it could have been more and probably needed to be. After consecutive 4-0 defeats, a shut-out was exactly what the Terriers needed from their game in ...

Huddersfield broke from the corner but a good move ended with O'Leary denying Rudoni, who missed when the ball dropped to him at a corner a minute later. asked the home fans in reference to last season's hapless Championship play-off final referee. Dasilva came across him and fouled him when it looked as though he had just got into the area. Matty Pearson and Jonathan Hogg hit passes woefully out of play to more groans. Sykes did well to go on a long run – albeit helped by the lack of challenges – but his shot at the end of it was weak and at the goalkeeper. [Martyn Waghorn](/topic/martyn-waghorn)'s shot was headed off the line by Andreas Weimann before Max O'Leary saved with his feet from Jack Rudoni.

Huddersfield Town vs Bristol City live: Updates from The John Smith's (Bristol Live)

All the build-up, live match action and reaction as the Robins look to get back to winning ways against Neil Warnock's side.

This is going to be a frustrating contest - Huddersfield are here to frustrate and grind out a result. He's been on the floor receiving treatment which is a concern but he's hobbled off with a slight limp. Instead, he picks out the run of Bell who was unmarked and his flick just misses the near post. A strike comes in from the edge of the area and it flies through a number of bodies as O'Leary makes an excellent save with his feet. He's absolutely furious down in the dugout. Pring must think he's scored but the keeper makes a brilliant sprawling save to keep him out. The City defender didn't get a touch on the ball. I think it's a contact injury but there's not much urgency on the bench. In an opening 45 minutes in which the visitors dominated, Mark Sykes was barged in the back by Josh Ruffels following a delivery into the area with replays showing he made little attempt to play the ball. He's back on his feet which is a good sign but that was an awkward fall. Hopefully, we'll get an update this evening on the severity of their respective knee and hamstring issues. The hosts head into the match following back-to-back 4-0 defeats against Burnley and Coventry.

Nigel Pearson 'sick' as Huddersfield Town penalty decision goes ... (BristolWorld)

Bristol City were held to a goalless draw by Huddersfield Town at the John Smith's Stadium, but should there have been a penalty for the Robins?

We put the game at risk with one or two poor decisions late on where we needed to control the game and didn't.” We were well on top, it's frustrating because those are the types of games which have been the ones this season where we've been a bit wasteful in terms of collecting points. Pearson added: "We've had enough opportunities to win the game but again, we go another game without scoring. Huddersfield nearly snatched the three points late on with Jack Rudoni denied by Max O’Leary and Andi Weimann having to clear off of the line. Advertisement Mark Sykes was barged by Josh Ruffels from Sam Bell’s cross in the first-half, but the referee didn’t agree with Pearson’s belief that he should have awarded a penalty.
