Latest Derby County news from Derbyshire Live brings you how the players fared against Argyle in the crunch League One clash.
Had a header early in the second half that was a good chance. Struggled to impact the game in the second half. There was one moment when he cleared the ball inside his own area and then ran the full length of the pitch to chase down the goalkeeper. Haydon Roberts: Was hardly tested defensively in the first half and picked his moments to support the attack. Eiran Cashin: The Derby defender's mantra was safety first and he took very little risk whenever there was a hint of pressure in the first half. Conor Hourihane: Played with such composure in the first half and just facilitated the ball calmly and cooly. Did the simple things well and was the best of the back four. Craig Forsyth: Solid in the heart of the back four and won the majority of his aerial duels. Korey Smith: Played with real intelligence in the first half and defended pretty well his side of the pitch. Continued to drive forwards in the second half. Joe Wildsmith: Had absolutely nothing to do in the first half as a combination of Plymouth's sloppiness in the final third and good defending kept them at bay. However, it was Derby who found the breakthrough when a clever overhead kick from David McGoldrick set Mendez-Laing racing clear.

We trust in them, they come on and deliver and they have done it time and time again. In the second half we showed what we are about, we moved the ball so well, created some good chances and once again the boys have showed character to come back and win. “We got the three number 10s on there which we felt could cause Derby a problem in those little spaces. We passed the ball really well in the first half and just didn’t have enough quality at the end of it. We were a bit sloppy every time we got the ball, we kept kicking it back to them. Ryan Hardie slotted home the resulting penalty in the 70th minute to claim all three points for the Pilgrims.
