Watford must defeat all-conquering Berko to reach cup final (Watford Observer)

If Watford are to reach the Herts Senior Cup Final, then tonight they have to become the first team to beat Berkhamsted at home this season.

The game kicks off at 7.45pm, and the postcode for the Glencar Community Stadium is HP4 2AL. However, it’s worth noting that both those Herts Senior Cup wins were by Berkhamsted Town, a club which was dissolved in 2009. There will also be a match programme available for £1.50 Hitchin claimed a 2-0 semi-final win at Cheshunt last week. The Comrades have won 21 consecutive home games during this campaign.

Elsewhere, Zak Fraser-Grante remained a threat as he tried to force an opening alongside his attacking teammates, but no one was able to break down a reliable and experienced Comrades backline. The home side’s dominance continued and it eventually resulted in the opener on the night.

Watford's youngsters beaten by streetwise Berkhamsted (Watford Observer)

A burst of three goals in 12 minutes was enough for Berkhamsted to beat Watford 3-0 to reach the Herts Senior Cup Final.

The third goal was a real lesson in how a team can undo you by using their assets to the best of their abilities. Indeed, he was directly involved in two of the goals and was unlucky not to score himself. A minute later it was 2-0. For 20 minutes it was a reasonable contest. Hopefully the young Watford players will take this as a positive learning experience while seeing what the future holds when they progress into the senior ranks. There’s nothing wrong with any of that, but it’s something not many Under-21 games contain.
