England need early wickets, and Sam Curran is a bit unfortunate not to grab one in an excellent first over. Talukdar edges for four, is beaten outside off ...

Rehan Ahmed could come in for his T20I debut, which would complete the set age the age of 18. He has yet to adjust to the pace of the pitch - but Salt looks in good nick, and he makes room to bash a length ball wide of mid-off for four. Their bilateral form has been poor of late, across both white-ball formats, and a loss today would mean a sixth defeat in the last 10 series. He replaces Mark Wood in the only change from the first T20. A swinging yorker from Taskin hits Malan on the pad and flies away for four leg-byes. We will find out shortly, as Buttler lost the toss for the eighth time in eight games this year. The last time Jos Buttler didn't open in a T20i was over five years ago. This looks a cracking pitch, with plenty of pace and bounce, and the new, improved Taskin is enjoying himself. He gets off the mark with an edge that flies past the leaping Shanto at slip for four. Moeen is hit high on the bat by a delivery that trampolines from just back of a length. Today England made 50 runs from six overs in the Powerplay and 67 from 14 after it. His third ball is way too short and helped round the corner for four by Litton Das.

Two singles follow before Ahmed closes the over with a couple. A brilliant diving grab from Shanto as he sprints in from mid-on to just behind the stumps to hold on. Rashid flicks to the leg side for a single but Ahmed can’t get the next couple of deliveries away – he’s particularly flummoxed by the slower-ball bouncer. 1st over: Bangladesh 7-0 (Rony 5, Litton 2) A bit of swing on offer for Curran as he tries to rip one through the right-hander’s defence. The off-spinner races through the over as Bangladesh settle for a handful of singles. 9th over: Bangladesh 45-2 (Hridoy 8, Shanto 16) Shanto tries to take Moeen down the ground but can’t get the timing on it, settling instead for a single to long-on. 10th over: Bangladesh 55-2 (Hridoy 17, Shanto 17) Rashid tosses it up and Hridoy whacks it down the ground for four. It was very, very wide and very, very short, and Hridoy cuts it to Woakes at backward point. Bangladesh need 23 from 30 balls. 16th over: Bangladesh 97-4 (Shanto 33, Shakib 0) Archer ramps it up to 150kph for Shakib’s first delivery! Moeen continues and, after a dot, Shanto bunts the ball into the leg-side to race away for a couple. - WICKET!

Bangladesh stifle England again to clinch series win (The Cricketer)

Bangladesh strangled England on a pitch that spun prodigiously as the home side took an unassailable lead in the three-match T20I series | The Cricketer.

But he fell in similar fashion to Talukdar before Shakib chipped Moeen to long-off, before Archer cranked up the speed gun to almost 92mph to knock over Afif Hossain's stumps. Between Salt and Moeen, though, England moved to 50 for 1 by the end of the powerplay, but from then on they collapsed in a heap. On this occasion, they were made to work on a slow surface that gripped for both seamers and spinners alike.

Experimental England lose T20 series vs Bangladesh after ... (Mirror.co.uk)

But they were unable to claim the prize wicket of Shanto, though, and he safely saw his side over the line alongside Taskin Ahmed with seven balls to spare. However, England's experimental lineup failed to [fire](https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/fire) at all as they limped to a lacklustre 117 all out. England made a solid start as they reached 50-1 at the end of the powerplay, with Malan the sole wicket to fall as he holed out off Taskin Ahmed for just five, but Buttler's side quickly slumped to 57-4 as Salt, Buttler and Moeen were all dismissed in quick succession. Debutant Rehan Ahmed, who became England's youngest ever men's T20I cricketer, picked up a wicket with his second ball as Towhid Hridoy was caught at point for 17. But when Mehidy once again made the breakthrough, getting Curran stumped for a 16-ball 12, England's lower order completely collapsed as they lost their last six wickets for just 26 runs including two run-outs in the final over. I would have opened with Buttler. Spinner Mehidy Hasan was the chief destroyer for Bangladesh as he picked up stunning figures of 4-12 from his four overs, while Najmul Shanto starred with the bat. [Nasser Hussain](https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/nasser-hussain) branded their display with bat "a bit shambolic", telling Sky Sports: "I don't think England helped themselves. England did continue to show some fight with the ball as Moeen removed Shakib for a duck and Archer bowled Afif Hossain for two to end with brilliant figures of 3-13. [Ben Duckett](https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/ben-duckett) and [Sam Curran](https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/sam-curran) attempted a rebuild as they added 34 runs off 32 deliveries. [Dawid Malan](https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/dawid-malan) was pushed up a spot to open with Phil Salt as captain [Jos Buttler](https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/jos-buttler) moved himself back into the middle order for the first time since February 2018, while [Moeen Ali](https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/moeen-ali) was promoted to number three. [England](https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/england-cricket-team) have slumped to a disappointing series defeat against [Bangladesh](https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/bangladesh-cricket-team) after a "shambolic" performance from an experimental batting line-up meant they failed to post a decent total.

However, he failed to make any impact as Bangladesh handed over a humiliating defeat to England, reiterating the kind of impact he has on the roster. As he did in the first T20I, Butler has proven his mettle on multiple occasions. Jos Butler (England): Over the past few years, Butler has made a name for himself as a formidable opponent. Shakib-Al-Hasan (Bangladesh): Most of the victories the Bangla Tigers have had in recent years have been made possible by Shakib. However, England slipped from 91 for 4 to 100 for 7 in 17 balls and only managed 117 on the board. The Bangla Tigers were limited to 124 runs in that game, which England overcame in 14.1 overs England put up a total of 156 in the first game, which the hosts managed to overcome pretty comfortably. Butler, who was impressive in the previous game, posed a threat for this one as well. However, the pick of the bowlers was Mehidy Hasan who bagged four wickets in his spell of four overs and gave away just 12 runs. On the flip side, the English batters collapsed like a house of cards. However, it’ll be a dead-rubber contest as the Men in Green secured their consecutive T20I win against the visitors on Sunday.

Defending the move not to call up any replacements, Buttler added: “It felt like instead of calling up someone else, trying to use some guys who will be exposed to these conditions in the 50-over World Cup.” “Felt like a great chance to expose the all-rounders’ batting, maybe one spot higher than they may be in a normal team.” “I think we need to give exposure to guys, especially who, in these conditions, also will probably play a part in the 50-over World Cup.
