He wasn’t able to work his way into a position to hurt the Hornets before being hooked at half-time. The French wing-back was given a torrid time in the first half. Colin was better in the second half, but it was too late. Bielik was industrious, if lacking in quality on the ball at times. He did, however, miss a huge chance to get Blues back into the game. Long struggled in the first half and Davis breezed by him for Watford’s second goal. Blues struggled to get to grips with the hosts in the first half and were fortunate to find themselves just two goals down at the break. Eustace used a break-in-play to pass on some instructions to his players, but Blues couldn’t stem the flow of Watford attacks. Blues’ top scorer raced in behind Watford’s defence only to scuff his shot wide of the post. Blues were also lucky to see Craig Cathcart’s header drift wide following a Watford corner in a disappointing first half. Aside from a 20-minute spell at the start of the second half, where Blues created two good chances, Watford were in complete control. Watford caused lots of problems down Blues’ right and the opening goal arrived via a cross from that side in the sixth minute.

Indeed, he is now the holder of the record that states he had the longest time between his debut for the club and his first goal for them, as per Jon Sinclair on Twitter: The hope will certainly be that the Hornets won't have to wait as long for his second goal for the club as they did for his first from his initial debut, however, with him setting a rather incredible record with his bundled effort against the Blues last night.
