Tony Carr, general manager at Amazon in Knowsley, said: "Delivering Red Noses is just one of the ways our team is supporting Comic Relief this year. The team took part in events including Comic Relief-themed games, a step challenge, and a delivery of food donations to Knowsley Foodbank. Throughout the week, Amazon employees were encouraged to snap photos of themselves wearing Red Noses in a virtual photo booth, with £1 donated to Comic Relief for every picture taken. The concept of Comic Relief was to get British comedians to make the public laugh, while raising money to help people around the world and in the UK.

Presenters at BBC Radio Shropshire will be riding on rickshaws for more than 50 miles in the county in a bid to raise money for charity.

Samir Patel, chief executive of Comic Relief, said: “The money raised for Red Nose Day will help people going through the toughest times of their lives, here in the UK and around the world. They are normally used to give rides to people around Shrewsbury and Oswestry, but this time will be ridden by presenters Adam Green and Andy Broxton, and producer Richard Tisdale. Schoolchildren will meet the rickshaws and strap the noses to them before they continue the challenge.

The P6 and P7 youngsters were in charge of organising the school’s Red Nose Day events that year. Mike took part in the classes and together they were able to donate to the cause. The pupils gathered together in their playground wearing bright red t-shirts and formed a giant red nose to raise money for the charity. The Menzieshill High pupils painted themselves red for Red Nose Day and completed a sponsored jog. Staff and members at Curves Gym in Angus took part in an Exercise a Thon in aid of Comic Relief in 2009. With every Red Nose bought, supporters are helping people through the toughest times of their lives, and 100% of all profits go directly to Comic Relief. On Friday 10th March, the parade covered more than 20 miles in challenging weather, visiting four primary schools to donate Red Noses for pupils to enjoy.

The week-long Liverpool Calling prize draw was announced by Zoe Ball on her BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show on Monday. The BBC also confirmed Kylie Minogue will appear in a sketch with the cast of BBC sitcom Ghosts. Several famous faces have been sporting their newly designed charity noses, including Sir Lenny Henry, Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, Jay Blades, AJ Odudu and children’s author and DJ Greg James.
