Sheffield United vs Blackburn Rovers LIVE (Accrington Observer)

Blackburn Rovers face Sheffield United in the FA Cup quarter-finals at Bramall Lane.

We'll have the confirmed teams in around 25 minutes. Rovers have been too passive in the last five minutes. Szmodics has the ball in his hand rather than Brereton Diaz. Too happy letting the Blades dictate play and they're finding gaps between the midfield. Stay tuned for all the action as Rovers look to book their place at Wembley. Since then, they have lost six and drawn one of their last seven visits. It's even poised at the break. Although United ran out 3-0 winners in the first meeting in August, Rovers have come a long way since that fixture. Seven to in this first half and it's evenly poised. The Blades beat Sunderland on Wednesday night whilst Rovers defeated Reading, both by a 2-1 scoreline. "His hand is in a natural position. Sheffield United have had the bulk of possession but Rovers look very dangerous on the break.

Paul Heckingbottom also spoke to the BBC. There's not many times you get the opportunity to go to Wembley as a player or as a fan.

The previous time to that was in 1960, Brian Douglas and all that, when they lost the final in to Wolves. United reached the semis in 2013-14, losing to Hull, 2002-3, losing to Arsenal, and 1992-3, losing to Sheffield Wednesday with Alan Cork’s beard up front. Rovers last reached the semis in 2004-5, when they lost to Arsenal with Mark Hughes as manager. Both teams have far bigger fish to fry in the EFL, with Blades in second but with Middlesbrough’s hot breath down their neck. The FA Cup is huge and this season seems to have been a good one and we’ve been involved in a couple of different occasions and stories so it would be nice to have another one. The defender was released at 13 and was signed by Blackburn, where he has been joined by a number of teammates who went through similar rejection at Premier League clubs. The ref is called to the VAR set, and it’s given a penalty to Blackburn. Tomasson, who became an elite player, was a youngster when Newcastle reached the 1998 FA Cup final but didn’t play as support to Alan Shearer. It would be a reward for the fans, for their support. McAtee escapes and it’s down to him and Pears in the Rovers goal. There’s not many times you get the opportunity to go to Wembley as a player or as a fan. From outfield, through a field of players, Pears has no chance as the ball flies off Sam Gallagher and in, after Max Lowe thwacks a second ball from a corner at goal.

'Fortunate' - Pundits assess two big Sheffield United vs Blackburn ... (Accrington Observer)

ITV pundits felt referee Tim Robinson was right to award Blackburn Rovers a penalty at Sheffield United, but that Jack Robinson was lucky to stay on the ...

And while Robinson escaped a straight red card in that instance, McAnuff in particular felt the defender was fortunate to still be on the field at half-time. It's a good penalty from Brereton Diaz, but I think (Wes) Fotheringham can do better, because he actually gets a hand on it and it's not directly in the corner - but, a good, firm penalty from Brereton Diaz." Whether the referee feels he has already given the penalty against him, and booked him, that maybe he gives him the benefit of the doubt. But, he has moved his hand there to save it and I think it's a penalty. I think, when you see that angle, he does move it and it almost feels like an instinctive save - quite a subtle one. His hand was lower to start with and then it seems to just pop up.

Sheffield United boss left 'very disappointed' with referee decision ... (Accrington Observer)

Paul Heckingbottom felt his side was harshly treated with a key decision in the FA Cup match at Bramall Lane.

Blackburn had more chances on the break in the second half, we know they are a good team on the break. "The game would have been a fantastic watch for everyone in the stadium and everyone watching on TV. "I thought it was a good game. "If it hit his right hand, I'd say no problem but that was a tough one to take after starting so well. I am delighted with the result and I'm happy with the performance. Heckingbottom though was disappointed with VAR's intervention that saw Rovers awarded a first-half penalty for handball by Jack Robinson.
