Preview | Swansea City v Bristol City | Swansea (Swansea City)

Swansea City host Bristol City this afternoon in their final match before the March international break (12.30pm kick-off).

His personal best tally was recorded during his loan spell at Northampton Town in the 2017-18 season. But you can't give your opponents the impetus to try and drive forward straight from the outset. And Piroe sealed the win in stoppage time as he calmly fired a low strike into the bottom corner for his 14th goal of the season. Too many players out of sorts who made too many poor errors. All three previous matches have ended 1-1 after 90 minutes. We didn't start well.

Bristol City predicted team vs Swansea City: Diamond decision for ... (Bristol Live)

There are still nine games of the season remaining but with an international break on the horizon and an injury list that appears to show no sign of abating ...

If Mehmeti is in a more central role, the pace of Wells and Weimann on the shoulder could open up some exciting attacking opportunities for City. That then leaves his centre-back options as Zak Vyner, being the only specialist, and Cam Pring who’s been filling in over the last three games and struggled - which is to be expected - against Luton Town on Wednesday, having performed admirably in the two matches before that. And we can complicate the conversation even more by the manager recently once again suggesting that he favours playing two up front. A wounded Swansea should be a different proposition, though, and although none of his forwards are in great form - Wells, one goal in five, Bell one in nine, Cornick no goals in nine appearances since signing and Weimann one in nine since he returned from injury at the start of February - he may, for this game at least, turn to his senior professionals to try and turn the tide. [indicated to Robins TV on Friday](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHxjcjnQ5Ew) that Matty James (ankle) won’t be back until after the international break and with Naismith sidelined, then the expectation is it’ll be the same midfield three that lined up at Kenilworth Road: Andy King in the holding role with Alex Scott and then Andi Weimann in advance of him. There are still nine games of the season remaining but with an international break on the horizon and an injury list that appears to show no sign of abating, at least in time for today, it feels like a bit of a struggle to the line for Bristol City.

Bristol City trail Swansea City as Liam Cullen breaks the deadlock in ... (BristolWorld)

Bristol City are a goal down to Swansea City after Liam Cullen opened the scoring for the Welsh side.

Swansea opened the scoring through Liam Cullen who netted his seventh goal of the campaign in simple fashion. The visitors’ first chance came from Mark Sykes who fired a 30-yard shot at Andy Fisher but the home goalkeeper was easy to it. Olivier Ntcham was the difference as he set up Liam Cullen for his seventh goal of the season and then scored himself with a finish just outside the box.

Swansea City v Bristol City - Live updates (WalesOnline)

Swansea City face Bristol City at the Swansea.com Stadium in the last game before the international break.

Liam Walsh with a great block to get the home fans going. The offside flag is up anyway. Alex Scott with the corner again, but Swanswa win it and break. They take it quickly but the referee stops play... Say what you like about the club's current run, this team are fighting. But this has been a very good spell from Swansea. It's a great cross from Liam Walsh to Liam Cullen, but he can't control it in the box. Swansea play out from the back and get all the way up the pitch with a long ball, but Cullen can't quite capitalise on a loose ball. Good defending from Nathan Wood to shepherd the ball out of play and win his side a goal-kick. Grimes loses the ball, but Manning wins it back with a sliding tackle. Ryan Manning loses the ball very cheaply but then makes a fine tackle to win it back before being fouled. Ryan Manning whips in the free-kick from the left, but Walsh can't control the ball.

Bristol City player ratings vs Swansea: Taylor-Clarke a real positive ... (Bristol Live)

All the ratings as the Robins head into the international break on the back of a 2-0 loss away at Swansea.

Will feel he should have been awarded a penalty when his flick in the area hit the hand of Cabango. Plenty of running and energy in the first half but with little reward having to chase long balls forward. Involved in the action both offensively and defensively but wasted a really good crossing opportunity. Similar performance in the second half with Swansea doing a good job to prevent his runs behind. Captain on the day but a result that couldn't match his occasion. Made a good save in the first half.
