Talks to make the undisputed heavyweight title fight have failed to reach a conclusion, Usyk's promoter Alexander Krassyuk confirmed to Sky Sports.

But the wait, for the fight the boxing world was longing to see, is set to continue. "I will try to express how disappointed I am, not just for Usyk, not just for this fight not happening but for all boxing fans around the world. It's definitely not Usyk's payday and it's definitely not his attempt to get more money. "I treat Frank with big respect. He made a remarkable return in 2018 and controversially drew with Deontay Wilder that year. "[The] rematch clause was just the point where it all exploded. Usyk would love to be part of such a huge fight, we all are willing, we are thirsty to make it happen. It's his attempt to get the WBC belt," Krassyuk said. He said, 'How many more times do I have to bow my head in front of Tyson. Fury v Usyk fight could still be saved - Warren (BBC Sport)

Promoter Frank Warren is planning further talks with Oleksandr Usyk's camp to try to salvage the undisputed heavyweight fight against Tyson Fury.

"The terms of [the rematch], that's the problem. That's become the problem. Warren said "six or seven" outstanding issues were ironed out and he had managed to convince Fury to accept a rematch. Usyk, 36, wants a rematch clause like the one Joshua activated when they fought in 2021. "I want the fight to happen. "I thought we would sort out the terms [for the rematch]. "It's crazy isn't it. "It's very disappointing," Warren said. We're going to speak in a couple of hours' time," Fury's co-promoter Warren said. Why are we even talking about rematches? [retain his WBC title](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/63846783), he said agreeing a deal with Usyk and his team for an undisputed fight would be easy - but that has not proven to be the case. It's a very important fight for boxing, it's an important fight for Usyk whose dream is to unify the titles and it's an important fight for Tyson to go and do what he set out to do."

The story behind Fury vs Usyk negotiations and what happens next (The Independent)

Usyk's promoter Alex Krassyuk has claimed the undisputed title bout is 'off'. Fury's promoter Frank Warren has suggested otherwise.

If Fury vs Usyk does not take place this year, it could be consigned to the same folder as Fury vs Joshua – one that houses boxing’s great lost fights. Usyk accepted the 70-30 split, he was so loyal, and he was so willing to make this fight happen. Even so, there is as little appetite for that fight as there was for Fury vs Chisora 3. Fury vs Joshua, even after the latter’s losses to Usyk, would have been a celebration of this generation’s preeminent British heavyweights. While Dubois, 25, has shown promise, there is the potential for the Briton to become the victim of a pugilistic statement by Usyk. [Usyk, whether or not he was supposed to, accepted](/sport/boxing/tyson-fury-oleksandr-usyk-next-fight-instagram-b2298481.html). It was not supposed to be this difficult. It was supposed to be different. Rumours rippled that there was already a plan in place for Fury to box 39-year-old Chisora, whom he had already beaten twice, and the speed with which their third meeting came together appeared to confirm those reports. [reportedly rejected a purse split of 60-40](/sport/boxing/fury-usyk-purse-split-alex-krassyuk-b2296440.html), weighted in favour of the winner; his counter was a 70-30 split in his favour, regardless of the result. Fury’s barely-tepid trilogy bout with Chisora in December was the back-up to a potential, generational showdown with Anthony Joshua. [Tyson Fury](/topic/tyson-fury) had barely finished [giving Derek Chisora a half-sincere pat on the back](/sport/boxing/tyson-fury-derek-chisora-fight-result-b2238432.html) when he felt the incision from two daggered eyes – lurking underneath a cap, somewhere in his periphery, and floating towards him.

Former WBC titleholder Wilder is now open to a meeting with Usyk after the collapse of the undisputed clash as his manager Shelly Finkel told [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/boxing/news/12183/12840294/deontay-wilder-would-take-oleksandr-usyk-fight-next-in-a-heartbeat-says-manager-shelly-finkel) : "If the Usyk fight is available, Deontay will take it in a heartbeat." "Wilder's got a cracked skull, his skull is cracked like an egg. "Deontay is the hardest puncher in the history of the sport and Deontay doesn't have to hit you over and over and over, if you're tough enough to take it then you can take it. Wilder has since hinted at a fourth meeting with 'The Gypsy King' but Fury's dad John has played it down in fears that his son could kill the American. "One plus one is two, and Usyk gets hit," he told Mirror Fighting . Fury had demanded a 70/30 purse split in his favour,
