Lyndon Arthur Finishes Strong, Outpoints Game Replacement Boris ... (Boxing Social)

Lyndon Arthur grew into his light heavyweight fight with late replacement, Boris Crighton, winning via unanimous decision in Bolton.

The momentum was with Lyndon Arthur in the tenth and final round. He didn’t go searching for a stoppage, and that let the still-game Crighton land a nice right hand. Arthur showcased his jab from the first bell, as he always does, although there was a real lack of follow-up with the right hand. He weathered it well, even landing himself, but Arthur refused to let up – that was until Crighton delivered two big left hooks in the final seconds, just about keeping his hopes alive. For Crighton, this fight against a former sparring partner was a chance to upset the odds and change the trajectory of his career. Arthur stepped into the ring looking to secure his third victory after a first career loss to domestic rival, Anthony Yarde, back in 2021.

It meant the judges were required and it was no surprise when they delivered a unanimous decision. Crighton jumped in with a follow-up barrage but missed with a big uppercut and Arthur was able to regain his composure. The ninth was a big one for Arthur too, with Crighton by now unable to spot the right hand coming. And, with less than 10 seconds left on the clock, he added a sheen to the scoreline by finally dropping Crighton. Arthur was routinely firing out his trademark jab to dictate the distance and pace but it was very rarely landing with any real conviction. He did not hesitate to accept the offer and immediately left his home with his girlfriend driving him south to Bolton.
