Peterborough 2-0 Derby: Posh prevail in play-off race clash (Sky Sports)

Peterborough claimed a crucial win in the race for the Sky Bet League One play-offs by beating fellow promotion hopefuls Derby 2-0.

And that proved costly as a second Posh goal arrived moments later in the 82nd minute when Ogbeta was on hand to tuck away his first for the club after Kwame Poku was kept out by Wildsmith. But it was a different story after the break as Mason-Clark rifled a 52nd-minute opener past County keeper Joe Wildsmith after being picked out by a Jack Taylor pass. Derby, who kicked off four points clear of their hosts, provided the only attempt on target of the first half when Conor Hourihane was denied by the boot of Posh keeper Will Norris.

Latest Derby County news from Derbyshire Live brings you full coverage of the League One clash against Posh.

He manages to deliver the ball and it's a decent one to be fair but Norris claims. But just as the latter is about to cross, the ball takes an almighty bobble. Mendez-Laing gets down the right and cross just clears the bar. The winger rolls a cross into the box which is just behind Hourihane. He's shoved in the back, but ref plays on and Taylor curls just wide. Posh are all over the place at the minute. Thought Mendez-Laing could have shot to be honest. Drives towards the box, cuts inside but curls over. It's just th final third that it's not quite happened but Hourihane should have scored. Dobbin spins brilliantly on the half-way line. Seen the replay. Cross is half-cleared to Smith who lashes well wide.
