Coronation Street confirms Justin's fate after acid attack (digitalspy.com)

Justin had been trying to throw acid at Daisy after he'd been stalking her, but Ryan stepped in the way and took the full force.

I’d make you feel beautiful and special," he said, attempting to justify his actions. She punched him repeatedly, but was dragged off by the police, who then arrested Justin for GBH. At the hospital, Daisy saw Justin watching her from his car. She also told the detective how many times she had tried to report Justin to the police. You did nothing," Daisy said. And I’d look after you properly. "I have reported him so many times, I have called your lot and been to the station and made statements. As Ryan screamed in agony and Daisy cried on the floor, Justin fled the scene. Daisy then rang 999 and, following their instructions, dragged a tortured Ryan into the shower and sprayed him with cold water while cutting the acid-soaked shirt off his back. "You think everybody wants you because you’re so perfect, don’t you? Coronation Street: Ryan Prescott says acid attack changes Ryan ... (Metro)

Ryan Prescott tells us what's ahead as his character, Ryan, begins his recovery after being attacked with acid.

The hardest thing to do is match it with continuity, having to match not just the colouration is, but the placement every single time. He is trying to find his way back to the infectious spirit, but it’s a long road.’ [ admit that one person can do this to another person. He sees things like his relationship with Alya and the chance to go to Ibiza slipping away from him and naturally tries to reach out in desperation. ‘The colouration that will be done has to be done by hand every single time I come in. PTSD, trauma therapy, learning the simple things of dealing with people looking at you in the street. ‘Also, there is a possibility there’s something going on with Alya, but then that gets shut down. There’s a whole phase of trying to accept that people are going to react differently to you now. It’s your first means of communication, the thing you most readily identify with yourself. ‘Your face is the first thing you look at when you get up in the morning and look in the mirror. Telling us what’s ahead for his character, Ryan explained that: ‘It will change the way Ryan interacts with the world. ‘He’s trying to reach out and clutch onto whatever he can within his life that will allow him to deny the reality.

Is Ryan Connor leaving Coronation Street for good? (Metro)

Ryan Connor has been wanting to leave Coronation Street for a while, and now he might have got his wish... just not how he had in mind.

Speaking about the long-term effects the attack will have on his character, Ryan Prescott told Metro.co.uk, ‘It’ll change his life forever. The recovery period is so long, if not lifelong.’ We first met a troubled Justin when Daisy attended the hospital for an appointment. So, what’s next for the poor lad? He was sitting in the waiting room and got chatting to her, revealing that his mum was seriously unwell. Coronation Street is too bleak now - it's time to restore the balance (Metro)

When you mash together the themes of far right extremism, rape, shootings and acid attacks, you'd be forgiven for thinking you were being sold a gritty 9pm ...

Yes, gritty and social-based storylines absolutely have a place in continuing drama – when done right, they can shine a light and portray themes across weeks and months to audiences of millions. The problem lies with how incessant it is. Before it totally loses its way, Corrie needs to take a step back and realise that less is more; and what viewers old and new really like the show for is its long held blend of high drama, community warmth, relationships and comedy. Take the acid attack episode this week; the main strand of the episode is shocking and absolutely horrific; it’s amazing that it has managed to make it into a pre-watershed timeslot. My criticism of the stories in Coronation Street right now is not the content per se – the consent and acid attack storylines in particular are absolutely nailed on with sublime performances from the actors involved, and I have no doubt the upcoming MND plot will be handled in a similar high quality fashion. Soaps are, at their heart, escapism and entertainment, and Coronation Street is in danger of losing the identity that has set it aside from all over TV since 1960. [I was defensive of these storylines](https://metro.co.uk/2018/01/24/no-coronation-street-not-dead-strong-ever-will-continue-7256373/); they were a hard watch at times and did take Corrie into darker territory than fans were perhaps used to, but these were not all happening at once, and were rarely at the expense of some of the warmer elements of the show. In the past months, it has felt like a race to get all of the hard-hitting issue led storylines out at once. [we have a harrowing acid attack](https://metro.co.uk/2023/02/18/coronation-street-spoilers-acid-attack-in-daisy-and-justin-stalker-plot-18307074/), with the agonised screams set to be etched in my mind for a long time to come. [who is about to claim his third victim in a drowning.](https://metro.co.uk/2023/03/26/coronation-street-spoilers-murder-victim-drowns-as-stephen-kills-again-18504420/) A long term fan of EastEnders and Brookside, I have long defended the darker and more intense side to soaps. Coronation Street from the 1960s and 1970s wouldn’t be palatable to the vast majority of audiences now.

ITV Coronation Street's Ben Price distracts fans as he leaves Jenny ... (Manchester Evening News)

The actor, who plays Nick Tilsley in the ITV soap, was seen in a video posted on the Instagram page for the podcast he co-hosts.

And the two options fans had, courtesy of the Jenny Connor actress, were: "Would you rather your life be a permanent sitcom or a permanent quiz show." So if you wanted to put your hand in Upper Pocket, the other hand would have to go in Lower Pocket which would feel/look weird and lopsided. But as some started to share their answers, others were distracted by Ben's attire as the soap star sported a salmon-pink cardigan over a black tee and dark trousers. The caption read: "Ben wants to give you this week’s ‘Would You Rather’ before we hear how the lads answered it on tomorrow’s episode!" After each movie night, the soap stars swap their sofas for the studio to discuss what they loved, hated, and rated about the films. Nick hosts the Sofa Cinema Club podcast with Corrie co-stars Colson Smith and Jack P Shepherd, who play Weatherfield's Craig Tinker and David Platt, which they first launched in 2018.

Coronation Street star Ryan Prescott responds to Ryan twist in acid ... (digitalspy.com)

Coronation Street aired shocking scenes for Ryan Connor as he received life-changing injuries in the show's acid attack storyline.

"The colouration that we've done has to be done by hand every time I come in for filming. Also, just before the attack, there was a possibility that there was something in the air with Alya and that gets shut down. I was encased in this plaster for the mould to be set. "I think at that point, Ryan was starting to realise that his life was never going to be the same again. I think he's experienced it in the past, so it brings up his defence mechanism and his barriers. "Despite the massive shift that the incident causes, Ryan is determined to make sure that it doesn't define who he is. "It's going to change his life forever, because it changes the way he interacts with the world. "I had no idea that it was going to be something so gritty, because Ryan usually slides into the more humorous elements of the show. That will allow you to save some of the facial tissue. It was very high energy and we had this respectfully curious urgency to tell the story. The scripts were amazing, which is a Godsend for a block like this with something so sensitive." I didn't really know what to expect, but he told me that something big was going to be in the pipeline for Ryan.

The actor added that the "recovery period is so long, if not lifelong" and his character will start to push people away as he hates "being on the receiving end of pity".
