Huddersfield 4-2 Boro - Live updates from the John Smith's Stadium (Teesside Live)

Live match updates as Middlesbrough take on Huddersfield in the Championship.

Ramsey into Archer's feet and he uses his body to shield the defender from the ball allowing Ramsey to run onto it and into the penalty area. Helik receives in the box and cuts back to Koroma. Good build-up play from Boro down the left and Ramsey plays Giles in behind. Slow start, but their settling now and looking to assert themselves into the game with possession. Akpom flicks into Ramsey's path and he is brilliant to get away from two players in his own half before splitting the defence with a ball in behind for Archer. Corner from Boro's left is flicked at the front post and Pearson gets what looks like a knee to it and it's into the bottom corner. Huddersfield break on Boro, work it from right to left where Koroma faces up Smith as he breaks into the box then uses him to disguise his curled effort into the far corner. It goes across goal and eventually falls kindly for Pearson unmarked at the back post to turn it home. He and Archer combine again, this time Ramsey running on to hit one first-time from Archer's lay off. The ball does cross the line and the referee blows and appears to give it as Boro all run back into their own half for kick-off. Ryan Giles cross from the left, Akpom with a great dart and rise and then a superb headed finish. Huddersfield run at Boro's right again and break into the box.

Huddersfield Town boss Neil Warnock will be speaking to the local and national media after the Terriers 4-2 victory against Middlesbrough at the John ...

"It was a bit emotional and I was like that in the dressing room! "I just felt we wanted it a bit more in the second half. "You saw the belief when we scored the first goal. I thought we created some good chances and it's about as good a result as I've had in my career. "Martyn Waghorn had a bit of a strain. We thought Matty Pearson could do a bit in there and we wanted him in and around there. I had people thanking me after we'd lost a couple of games on the trot. "5/1, at home, in the Championship, one of my teams? We had a scout at the Preston game and they could have got 10. We cut the angles off and the goal lifted the crowd. "We didn't want McNair on the ball. The visitors dominated possession and created the vast majority of chances.

This was a Warnock side at their belligerent, in-your-face best on the resumption. They did that and a load more besides en route to scoring four goals at home for the first time since August 2021. The veteran will miss all these, when he does finally retire. It was slightly harsh on Town and while much of the half was a case of showing discipline and organisation with Boro enjoying a fair bit of possession, they set about the visitors well enough and they did not truly settle until their goal. Ultra-committed and full of intent and a team in the truest sense of the word. Trailing at the interval, Town cancelled out Marcus Forss’s opener 22 seconds into the second half after Josh Ruffels went solo - and it was the prelude to the most remarkable passage of play in a troubled season for the hosts.

It's not acceptable obviously but at the same point we have a big game Friday and have a big game coming up. "Sometimes you get it in football where you can't really rationalise a little burst in the game and three moments in 10 minutes kind of, it is what it is, then you're chasing the game after that. It's not often you concede three goals that we ended up conceding in a short space of time. I can't fault the effort and attitude but moments cost us." Football throws things up and sometimes it's hard to understand why. We still wanted more and we came out hoping for more.

"Sometimes you get it in football where you can't really rationalise a little burst in the game and three moments in 10 minutes kind of, it is what it is, then you're chasing the game after that. "I thought in the first half it was pretty much what we expected, tough team to break down man to man all over the pitch. We thought Matty Pearson could do a bit in there and we wanted him in and around there. It's not easy to break down but we were patient, they can frustrate you but we were patient and I was pretty happy with the way things were going. We had a scout at the Preston game and they could have got 10. I'd cut a lot out of what we show about the opponents because there wasn't a lot of bad stuff to show them.

Town come forward and work it inside for Ward, who plays a lovely ball out to Koroma on the left. Town win a throw well forward on the left and it's given to Ruffels. Smith wins the ball from Koroma as he tries to break forward, and the winger commits a foul. Rudoni to take from the right. REG heads it clear, then Jackson is smashed to the floor. Koroma strikes, it's blocked but Hogg picks it up and puts it towards goal. He picks out Rudoni, who controls it, and shoots on the half turn...close, but just wide! Boro come again up the left but are held up. The Bluebirds still have a game in hand but it's a very interesting league table now with QPR, Rotherham and Cardiff all within three points of Town, who remain third from bottom. Both David Kasumu and Tyreece Simpson waiting to come on. Goal kick. They come inside but again are blocked.

He squared the ball to find Ward, but this was deflected out for a corner.
