The Halifax used Land Registry data to put together its top 10, which also includes other Devon towns, Dartmouth, which although nearby is half the price of a Salcombe home at £567,985; Kingsbridge (£556,659) and Budleigh Salterton (£537,681). The average price of a new home across the UK is £304,460. It makes Sandbanks a bargain these days, as the average price is a measly £952,692.
